Attitude and an Argument

You stare blankly at the screen in front of you. Trying to comprehend the math equations and how to solve them.
“Who decided to add the alphabet to math?” You groaned, resting your face on your palm. Your hand started running through notebooks to see if by any chance, you made some more math notes.
Then, your eyes landed on your notebook that you used for Korean, Ms. Kim’s class.
The one Mr. Wooyoung skipped so cooly. You grimaced at the memory and picked up the notebook. Just now, all the memories from earlier came flowing in. All from when you first woke up to when you last saw San. You smiled back on his kindness and interesting personality. It didn’t surprise you how those memories didn’t cross your mind once since then. You’ve been so busy and tired that you barely have time to breathe.
The door to your dorm opened slowly causing you to jump a bit. It opened to reveal a tired Heejin dragging herself in.
“I’m home.” She heaved out, shaking her shoes off her feet. You got up from your chair to go see her. “Y/NNNN… I missed you.” She sluggishly went to you and hugged you at once.
“What happened?” You asked, trying to keep Heejin from falling. “Did the boys make you run to the chicken restaurant again?” You gently pushed her off so she wasn’t leaning on you too much.
Heejin was quick to turn around and fall belly first onto her bed and let her pillow engulf her face. “No, we made the newbies go.” She said with her chin propped up on her pillow. “I just ate a lot of it.”
You shook your head and let out a giggle. Your hands went to go pull off her coat so she’d be more comfortable. Suddenly, your door opened once again.
This time, it was Wooyoung.
“Oh good she got in fine.” He sighed out leaning against the door frame. His brown eyes averted to yours. “Ah, I should probably get going then. Goodnight.” Wooyoung smiled and went to close the door.
“Woo wait!” You called out quite loudly causing the dark haired male to jump a little bit.
Wooyoung pressed his index finger to his lips then pointed up. “There are people sleeping.” He scolded as you walked over to your desk and poked out your tongue playfully.
"Here are the notes from class that you missed today." You stated in a much lower toned voice. He grabbed the notebook from your hands and skimmed through the pages.
"Thank you. I promise I won't be absent any more." He stuffed the notebook into his backpack and turned around.
"Actually Wooyoung, can we talk real quick?" You called out and put a hand on his back. He turned around and gave a small and slow nod. He took a few steps inside which made you point to the door. “Outside.” You pushed him towards the door and put your slippers on.
"Heejin I'll be back!" You called out quietly to the half asleep girl. She let out a muffled ‘mkay’ and threw her hand up waving goodbye. You smiled and walked out with your friend.
The entire time in the building was silent. Down the hallway, in the elevator, everything until you walked out the door.
Once you got outside the cold night fall breeze hit your face immediately freezing up your whole body. Unfortunately you didn't think that it'd be that cold and unknowingly stepped out with your thin pajama pants and your old and frayed high school p.e. shirt. Even though the air brought you to shivers, you enjoyed the coolness.
Wooyoung turned towards you and began. "So what's up?" He asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"It's about earlier." You murmured just loud enough for him to hear. He moved his head to the side and cocked his eyebrow up as to ask what you meant. "Y-you know what I'm talking about."
Wooyoung dropped his head and sighed. "I don’t.” He quickly replied, shaking his head. “Even if I did, my problems shouldn’t be any of your concern.”
You flinched at his phrase as if his words were sharp enough to pierce you. He was acting so different ever since he left you at the blanket.
He picked up his head and avoided eye contact with you by looking to the side. The city lights had his full attention as you were trying to find words to respond with.
"Wooyoung," You exhaled, your words dripping with hurt from his tone. He noticed and turned his head to look at you now. “Would you stop please and explain. It’s not good to have tension between two people, especially when your friend is in the middle of it.” You mustered out.
"Stop what? I'm answering your question." He glared and said in a cold tone. It was so unlike him to act like this. There was definitely something more. And his new attitude was starting to get on your nerves.
"No you're not! You're acting like a child!" You managed to exclaim, making his eyes go wide.
"I'm the child? You're the one holding hands with random guys and making up childish excuses." He blamed, throwing his hands up in the air. "Come to think of it, what really happened with you? Anyone could see through that blatant lie."
"This is exactly what I mean! You've been changing the subject all day. Please don't start again and just talk to me." Tears brimmed your eyes and threatened to fall. But, you kept your composure and stared straight back at him. "Could you please at least tell me what's going on? I just want to be there for you." You explained, your voice trembling a little. His gaze softened at your words.
"We just." He paused for a second, exhaling for what seemed like ages. "Don't get along as well as we did in highschool."
You groaned at the obvious answer he gave.
"Let's not fight about this anymore." He surrendered and you huffed out a small sigh of relief.
"I agree. Just.." This time you paused, collecting the right words to say. "I'm sorry." You apologized.
"Ahh don't be." He stepped forward and gave you a small flick on your forehead. You giggled which made him chuckle softly.
"I'm sorry as well. I shouldn't have been so rude about it." He confessed and scratched his head. You wanted to ask him why he was acting that way but didn't want to risk getting into another conflict. So, you stayed silent and accepted his apology as well.
"I think it's time for me to go now. I don't want Seonghwa or Hongjoong scolding me for staying out late again." Wooyoung said and you nodded in agreement. "Get inside before you get sick. And remember what I told you about sleep!" He said one last time before turning around and walking away.
"Oh and one more thing." Wooyoung stopped and cocked his head to the side and back. "I wouldn't suggest making friends with San. Let me know if he bothers you. Okay?" He added with a small grin and went back to walking away.
"Goodnight Wooyoung." Was all that left your mouth as his advice repeated in your head. He just kept walking.
"What the heck is that supposed to mean?" You thought and made your way back up to your dorm.
"Heejinnie," You called out once you opened the door. Once you heard a hum from the still body you continued. "How was Wooyoung acting with San and Yeosang after I left?"
"Beats me. He left right after you did." She said propping herself up on her side. "Although he did come to the studio a couple hours later right when we were cleaning up. Yeosang and him were just fine but with San they were avoiding each other like the plague." She added, making you nod slowly.
“So it is true, something is going on between them.” You mumbled to yourself. Your conversation, or rather argument, with Wooyoung replayed in your head and you were trying to find clues or an idea of what could have happened. You groaned again and fell into your desk chair, letting your head fall onto the desk.
"Agh! This is so confusing what the heck is going on?" You let your hands make their way to your scalp and you begin to rub it. As if it would give you more knowledge.
“This better not stress you out. You already have so much on your plate.” Heejin complained. “If they do something I swear I’ll-” She threatened but got cut off by your laugh.
“No no, it’ll all be okay Jinnie.” You assured, closing your laptop and cleaning up your desk. Even though you had work to do, you wanted to take a little break to let yourself mentally repair.
“Heejin I’m going to go to the vending machin-” You were cut off by a snore. You whipped your head around to see a sleeping girl. You smile and make your way to the door, this time learning your lesson and putting on your hoodie, and slipped on your outdoor slippers once again. You shut the door quietly making sure to not awake Heejin and set off.
Unfortunately, the vending machine on your floor's lounge was broken, so you had to make a walk all the way down to the first floor.
It didn't feel like long until you got there since your mind was occupied enough. Once you got there, you now had to make a decision on what to get. Your eyes landed on a can of your favorite coffee which made your eyes sparkle. You needed that caffeine since it was likely you would be staying up late with work. You quickly put in two 1,000 won bills and pressed the button. It only clicked but no sign of the drink falling. You frowned as you read the digital screen saying you were some change short.
"I'll just get my money and go." You whimpered about to press the button to give you your money back.
"It seems like I'm always saving you, huh?" A familiar voice came from behind you. They pressed a coin into the slot and pressed the same button you did.
You turned around and gasped with your eyes as big as saucers.
"San?!"
