"May I have this dance?"
A familiar voice echoed throughout the room. Far yet closer than before. You looked around trying to find the owner of the voice. Your eyes squinted and brows knitted. Spinning trying to find the epicenter. It was driving you insane.
Suddenly it was all gone. The darkness disappeared and was replaced with a bright beaming light and something wet trickling down your forehead. You jolted up from your position and felt something cold drop onto your lap.
"Oh thank god you're not dead." A voice sounded beside you. You could immediately tell who the owner of that one was with how sympathetic it was yet so jokingly sarcastic it was. You glanced over to the owner, Jung Wooyoung, who already had his mouth occupied by a water bottle. He sat down besides you on your blanket you set out for you and your friends for your lunch break.
"What happened?" You asked, picking up the cold item off of your lap which was a red popsicle.
"You were out, cold." He referred to the popsicle you were staring at. Wooyoung snorted at his own pun as you sent a small glare. He finally collected himself enough to speak once more. "I passed by here to find you presumed dead. Sooo I dropped the popsicle on your head hoping you'd wake up." He smiled at his explanation expecting praise but all you gave him was a tongue click.
"Don't click your tongue at me! You're the one who isn't sleeping well. Tch I wouldn't be surprised if you were dead." He scolded trying to be serious but couldn't hide the fact that he was joking. You softly nudged him on the arm playfully and shared a quick laugh before continuing.
"Where did you come from anyway? I thought you wouldn't be joining today." You asked, setting your popsicle in the shade to prevent it from melting.
"Practice room. I heard there's people here to scope it out so I left a little early to find them and happened to see you." He said before taking another swig from the plastic water bottle. Your eyes adjusted to see him clearly now. His long black hair now back into a small ponytail, the fringes being held back by a headband and the faint marks of sweat on his forehead. You soon just made an 'O' shape with your mouth and nodded.
After your eyes adjusted completely, it didn't take you long to realize it was just you and Wooyoung.
"Hey where is everyone?" You asked, jerking your head around in an attempt to find your friends.
Wooyoung quickly whipped his head around in both directions. He shook his head a scoffed lightly,"No idea." The black haired male jolted up from the bedsides you on the blanket. "I have to go. Eat your entire popsicle but don't think I'll do this again. Stop relying on sugar and get proper rest, okay?" He said in the same scolding tone with his voice slightly raising. He cocked his eyebrow up and walked off quickly.
"Did he take time to get this for me?" You asked yourself but shook it off as his figure moved further.
"Thank you!" You said loud enough for him to hear you. He gave a response by throwing his hand up and waving at you, still looking in the other direction. You chuckled and glanced over at your phone time.
You realized that there was still another hour before your next lecture. With a little shrug, you decided to get up and go look for everyone else. You shook out the blanket and gently started to fold it neatly then placed it in your bag and began walking off.
For the next 10 minutes, you found yourself lost in thought, enjoying your popsicle. The thoughts were scattered. Sleep schedule, notes, friends. But it all came back to one, that dream you keep having. A voice that gradually comes closer and closer every time you fall into slumber. Which these days, isn't a lot. You couldn't put your finger on what it meant or if it could just be a side effect from the lack of sleep you are suffering from. You were shook out of that mindset when your eyes landed on a specific figure that was standing tall that you would usually use as your indicator- Yunho. He was standing with a group that you immediately recognized as your friends. You sighed in relief and began to make your way over to the group. You looked and seen everyone, wondering why they didn't tell you they were going to go to your usual spot. Soon there were a couple more people that came into sight that you did not recognize. They weren’t holding textbooks or backpacks. Maybe they were just asking for directions? You shrugged and kept walking, not minding the people around you.
“Seonghw-AHHHH-” You called out at first until your arm was grasped by a big hand. The source pulled you away causing you to get scared and scream a little. Before you could finish that scream another hand clasped over your mouth.
“Shh, stop screaming.” Spoke the person of mystery. You squirmed in their grip as they finally let go of your mouth but not your arm. You swiftly turned around to get a better understanding of who it was.
"Chan!?" You gasped, coughing and trying to catch your breath. He peered around the corner to where you were standing previously.
"Ahh Y/N! You need to be more careful!" He scolded, shaking you at your hand. "People will think that I'm trying to hurt you."
"Too late." You said, gently trying to shake your arm out of his tighter grip. He gasped and let go. As soon as you retracted your arm he pulled you in by the shoulders and into a hug.
"Chan get off of me!" You squirm under his embrace. Eventually you manage to pry him off and shove him off quickly. "I told you I don't see you in that way!"
"Come on Y/N! You need to give me a chance to prove my love! I can show you that I'm the best catch in this entire University!" He attempted to move forward and hug you once again. Luckily your adrenaline was still pumping from when you got him off of you previously.
So you protected yourself with the only thing you had.
A popsicle stick.
"S-stay back!" You stuttered. Holding the popsicle stick with both hands in front of you. Chan glanced down at your protection and scoffed.
"So you're threatening me now?" He shook his head, grabbing your wrists making you drop the stick. "That's not very nice."
You panicked. You had nothing else to revert to now to get yourself out of this situation.
"Chan, leave me alone please!" You raised your voice, hoping someone would come in and stop him.
"What are you guys doing back here? Don't you know there are classes going on in this building?" Someone spoke and soon after clicked his tongue. "I wouldn't blame them if they failed their exams because of all this commotion going on by them" The voice seemed to be coming closer until the person finally showed up before you two. It was a male. Due to the lack of light and your vision blurry from tears, you couldn't make out who exactly it was. Nonetheless, you were relieved that he was there.
Chan was fast to pull you behind him. "Who are you? What do you want? We're in the middle of something." He glared at the other.
"I was trying to study but got interrupted by a certain annoying voice. Sounds a lot like yours." The mystery person chuckled which made Chan clench his fist.
You on the other hand tried to get a better look at the person. You stood on your tippy toes and tried your best to grab his attention. You succeeded and gave him pleading eyes for help.
"Ah there you are!" He said, stepping forward and grabbing you more quickly than Chan could comprehend. "We were looking for you, don't go running off anymore." The person said, moving his finger in a scolding way in front of your face. He gave a light squeeze to your wrist, as if to tell you to play along.
"O-oh right! I'm sorry." You awkwardly smiled as a part, of your act and as a quick 'thank you'.
"Give her back! You don't know her!" Chan shot forward trying to reach you. This time, the man pulled you behind him.
"Woah there dude. Of course I know her. Do you think I go around pulling random girls behind buildings?" The person shot him a death glare, as if he were referring to him.
"W-well you don't know what she wants!" Chan said in defense.
"Well I know well enough that she doesn't want to be anywhere near you." The person shot back making Chan become dumbfounded. "Now if you'll excuse us, we will be taking our leave." He said once more before walking off, your arm still in his grip as you trailed along with him, leaving Chan there.Hi hello :3
Quick lil AN - The reason I called this "0" is because I didn't really want to make it 'Chapter 1' due to it's lacking factors and how it's a little short for my tastes so essentially it's a pilot. However, it's still pretty important to the story line. Also the Chan in this story is in no way related to Bang Chan of SKZ or any other idol named Chan!! Anywhooo I hope you enjoyed this ! Please look forward to more chapters (•̀ᴗ•́)و !
Fix your posture and drink water!
Until next time ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎
