Colby woke up on his bathroom floor. Sam had gotten sick and thrown up the night before. Colby came in and comforted him, both falling asleep on the floor. He sat up and cracked his back and neck grimacing in pain before checking on Sam. He pulled Sam's light, limp body upward and rested him against his chest. He felt Sam's head and he was warm, but it had dropped since the night before. A sleeping sam adjusted to colby's warmth and cuddled into him. Colby admired his best friend and scanned his features. Sick or not, Sam had absolutely no flaws. In Colby's mind, he was perfect, he was beautiful and nobody could change Colby's mind. That was normal right? To think your best friend is beautiful? Yeah, it had to be. Colby isn't gay, or that's what he told himself. While he accepted people who were, he just couldn't see himself dating the same gender. Sam was a different story in his mind though. Colby could see himself happy with Sam, he could see a life with Sam. Though he told himself it was only because they grew up together and it's what they both know. They grew up cuddling one another, they grew up holding hands and hugging more than just a "bro hug", they grew up thinking it was okay. They only had each other. Even though Colby wants to make more friends, nobody could replace Sam. In his head no amount of people could hurt him by leaving the way Sam's absence would hurt him, so he promised and vowed to never replace Sam, and that promise has always been kept. He loves the blonde beauty, he loves him more than life itself. Yet that thought alone terrifies him.
