IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN YOU
SONG: HEY, JUDE BY THE BEATLES
_____________________________________LEVI HAS ALWAYS been antisocial, even to his own brothers. It wasn't because he found it hard to talk to them, but because emotions tire him out. He was afraid that maybe the people around him don't feel the same as he does.
Not until you arrived at Devildom and shook the demon down to his knees.
You were such an important person to Leviathan ---- and you were aware of it. The demon himself, however, isn't sure about his feelings. He's only relying on the fact that he wants to be with you as much as possible.
"Look at the new anime show in DemiFlix," Levi leaned towards you with his phone in his hand. He was fully aware of your shoulders touching his but he decided to remain calm. "It's pretty cool, right?"
You stared at the beautiful cover of the new show that Levi has been talking about. Your mouth was gasped, "What is it about? It seems promising."
You stepped back a few inches away from him. Levi noticed this and fought back the urge to frown. He decided to tell you about the description instead, in order to avoid the bubbling emotions in the pit of his stomach.
"It's about renting a boyfriend ---- the anime style is so awesome and pretty! I've actually read the manga so I really wish they give it justice." Levi skimmed through his gallery where he saved some photos of the manga.
Your eyes sparkled with the lovely art of the artist. "Imagine having to rent a boyfriend," you muttered and sighed.
Levi tensed and dropped his gaze to the floor, "Hey," he called out which made you glance at him with a questioning look. "Would you rather rent someone you don't know to pretend to love you, or would you want someone who is a friend?"
It took you a moment to reply to him, "But, they are my friend. Wouldn't it be awkward to our friendship if I told them to fake-date me?"
The answer made Levi deflate from some kind of strange sadness. "Well, you got a point though. What is the probability of the other not falling in love with their friend anyway? That's a game over."
Hey, Jude, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better
He stared at you with a knowing look. A mix of longing and sadness, as if he won't be able to hold you much more than a friend. You looked away, ignoring his gaze as you bit your lip, rather than playing with your words; why can't you just admit it, Levi?
Levi wasn't the only one standing alone in the pit of darkness --- if only he could see you, if only he could reach out and hold your hand.
Remember to let her into your heart.
"Hey," he called out once again, leaning closer to you that made your heart skip a beat a dozen times. You watched him reel in closer, and closer, and closer---- but he went past your face and whispered something to your ear instead.
"Let's go to the movies tomorrow, okay? Just you and me." you saw him fidget in his seat that made your lips curl up slightly. He was taking it slow, and so should you. There's no point in pressuring Levi to confess. Love takes time and so much patience.
Then you can start to make it better
. . .
Today was the day that Levi would take you on a date. You were delighted about being with Levi in the movies, not that it was the first time he spent time with you alone; but because it was the first time that it meant something more than just buddies.
You were waiting in the living room, browsing through social media until you felt that Levi was already there. You looked back and you stopped for a moment to study --- no, appreciate him that he had gotten ready for today.
You hopped off the couch and beamed at him. "Are you ready to go?"
His eyes softened when he saw you, he smiled softly, "Yeah."
. . .
The line at the cinemas was long and crowded. Not that you were surprised since it was the first day of a rather popular movie showing today. Of course, there were people pushing each other.
"Ouch," you hissed when somebody made you stumble, some portions of the popcorn falling to the floor. You were about to glare at the demon who disturbed your walking until you saw Levi holding out his hand for you.
He had a shy look on his face as he was glancing everywhere but you. You took a deep breath before cooling off, you grabbed his hand and grinned.
Hey, Jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her
"Sorry, I picked the wrong timing again to ask you out," he mumbled with a tone of regret dripping from his words. You shook your head and laced your fingers with his.
The minute you let her under your skin,
"It's fine. At least we could do this," you raised both of your hands with a smile playing on your face. Levi blushed a shade of red, but you could see that he was smiling at the fact that he was close to you.
Then you begin to make it better.
Loving someone just shows how you can be patient with them. If you pushed them into loving you, would they actually do? It might take days, weeks, months, maybe even years for them to finally open up to you.
Maybe it's because our soul is trying to communicate with others. To know each other better. Some people needed more time to love freely since they were hurt, broken.
All you have to give them is time and love.
That's what it only takes to love someone.
