Chapter 8

"Oh hell no" Ban says "you did not just say that"

"say what?" Ayano asks

"What is wrong?" Gowther questions "I believe brother is an appropriate term for her to call me to show one's closeness with one's sibling"

"yeah but.." King looks surprised "we're just surprised, we've never heard her call you that before"

"incorrect, their are multiple times we have called each other siblings" Gowther corrects "most of the time you were too busy with other activities to notice me and my sister"

"So you guys.. are actually siblings?" Ban asks

"something like that" Meliodas answers "it's a complicated subject"

"what is complicated about it" Gowther tilts his head

Ayano pats his shoulder "don't worry about it, they wouldn't understand"

"If you say so" Gowther nods

"So that's why they're both the sin of lust" King says

"not exactly, but sure we'll go with that" Meliodas looks away

Ban walks over to them "well well well, so this is what was under all that armor" he walks around Gowther "I thought for sure some giant old guy was inside"

"Posture, gait. Tone, demeanor. Facial scar" Gowther analyzes "you really are Ban the undead"

"wow, now that's the Gowther I remember" Ban says

"If that's true, then mu hunch is right" Gowther turns to Meliodas "that boy who's exactly like the Meliodas I know is.."

"That's right! I'm your captain, Meliodas" Meliodas confirms

"Meliodas! You mean this shorty is the captain of the seven deadly sins?!" a Holy Knight shouts

"wait, that's shocking?" Meliodas looks confused

"I'm surprised" Gowther says "who knew my sister would be hurt by such a boy"

"Gowther!" Ayano shouts in annoyance

"well Look over there Gowther, you're in for a big surprise" Ban points to King "It's King!"

"No that's someone else entirely" Gowther says "Bone structure, tone of voice, body odor. It's not him at all"

"hahaha, Body odor" Ayano and Ban laugh

King stares at them before shifting into his other form.

"That is him, without a doubt" Gowther says

King changes back to his skinnier form

Ayano looks at him "that was a quick change of opinion"

"I have confirmation now" Gowther pushes his glasses up "right?"

"yes yes" Ayano pats his back

"Wonderful!" A Holy Knight shouts "Starting with Gowther, I got to meet five of the seven deadly sins! I couldn't be happier!"

"technically shouldn't we be called the eight deadly sins?" King questions "including Ayano their's eight of us"

"well their's still only 7 sins" Ayano replies "me and Gowther are both the sins of lust"

"right" Meliodas agrees

They turn their attention back to the Holy Knight who was still speaking

"Our mission today is to take back the armor giant's head" the Holy Knight continues "no more, no less"

"That's your armor right Gowther?" Meliodas asks "But who the hell's inside?"

"..I'm not really sure" Gowther admits

"well, it's time to do our work" the Holy Knight says "I'm asking nicely, so don't get in the way this time"

"won't you leave him be?" Gowther questions "please"

"Come on Gowther, we might as well let them kill this monster if they want" Ban says

"yeah.. we were only protecting him because we thought he was you" King adds

The monster suddenly roars, he raises his fist and goes to attack them. Gowther picks up Ayano and side-steps out of the way.

"careful" He says

"thanks Gowther" Ayano smiles as he places her down

"After feeling his magical powers first hand" Gowther turns to the Holy Knights "do you still think you can defeat him?"

"We can defeat him" the Holy Knight declares "Of course, two.. no, one of the roars of dawn are certain to die. But we're also certain to get his head"

"Such cool judgement" Gowther raises his hand "then I have no choice"

"do you intend on siding with that monster?" the Holy Knight asks

Gowther concentrates his magical energy into his hand and with one swoop he cuts off the monster's head. Meliodas, King, Ban, and the Holy Knights all look surprised.

"...well I know where he gets that from" Ayano mumbles

Gowther holds the monster's head out to the Holy Knights "Take it"

"wh.. what's the meaning of this?" the Holy Knight slowly walks over to him "I.. I don't get you!"

"Well this is the most peaceful method of resolving this" Ayano says "Right brother?"

"Correct, If a three way battle between the Seven Deadly Sins, the Armor Giant, and you Roars of Dawn occurred, the decimation of Ordan and it's people would be inevitable" Gowther explains

"Besides, this can give some sense of consolation for your fallen knights" Ayano winks "right?"

"hmph, I suppose" the Holy Knight takes the head from Gowther "I like you two, Sins of Lust Gowther and Ayano"

"oh look someone knows my name" Ayano claps

"Out of respect for the two of you, and for the legendary seven deadly sins, I'll take this" the Holy Knight rests the head on his shoulder "but if we're ever ordered to go after the heads of you seven deadly sins then.. well.. never you mind"

The Holy Knights jump away "Bye bye" they leave

"Bye bye" Gowther waves

"well that was anticlimactic" Ayano sighs

The monster's body suddenly stands up, the Sins looks up at it.

"well.. let the five of us do our best to stop him" Gowther says calmly

"oh dear.. what's going in here?" Meliodas questions calmly as well

"It's still alive after having it's head cut off?!" King shouts

"Looks like it's head was nothing more than a decoration" Ayano says excitedly

"This isn't something to be happy about Ayano!" King shouts

"King chill" Ayano pats him on the back "you're overreacting"

"Overreacting!" King shouts "if anything you're underreacting!"

"It's magical power suggests that it was once human" Gowther points out

"What part of that was once human?!" King shouts "This is too crazy!"

The monster suddenly grew four heads and roared.

"of course it was no ordinary human" Gowther says

Ayano chuckles "It's the ruin of what was once a holy knight"
