Somehow Gowther had put an illusion on Galand after Merlin had turned to stone. They were taken in by a local mage who helped them all recover. Meliodas woke up to Elizabeth crying near him.
"Where's Ayano?" He asks weakly
"Sir Meliodas.. Lady Ayano isn't breathing" Elizabeth cries
"Take me to her" Meliodas sits up "..please Elizabeth.. I beg you"
Elizabeth nods, she helps Meliodas up and takes him to a medical room in the castle where Slader is being tended to.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what else to try" A mage, who is trying to lift the spell on Merlin, says
"Why don't we ask Merlin herself?" Meliodas suggests
Everyone turns and looks at him.
"Sir Meliodas!" Arthur shouts surprised "What about your injuries?!"
"Oh me? I'm good with a bit of sleep" Meliodas tells him "By the way, what happened? I don't see how Galand would leave without finishing us off"
"Before my sister was pierced, she woke me up," Gowther speaks and they all look at him "I slightly altered Galand's memories so that he would think that he delivered the final blow to you and the others... but I don't know how she did that when she was out of control"
Gowther looks over at the curtains that are hiding the lifeless body on the bed. Meliodas removes his arm from Elizabeth and walks over to Ayano's body.
"Sir Meliodas, I wouldn't look if I was you" Slader says "her s not a pretty sight"
"Your joking, my wife is always beautiful" Meliodas moves the curtains and looks at where the hole in her stomach was, now completely healed. Meliodas kneels down and takes her hand, placing a kiss on it "come one honey, you're scaring everyone"
"Sir Meliodas.." Elizabeth says sadly
Everyone about now was thinking he was crazy for talking to a dead body. They were worried.
Meliodas looks at Gowther "Are you alright now?"
"You do not have to worry about me losing control anymore, because I have been equipped with this control bracelet" Gowther holds up his arm to show the bracelet "Merlin's magic item no. 174, prototype 'Peace Amulet'."
"After Galand left... I put it on Gowther as he was trying to make his escape and his guard down" Merlin's voice is heard and they all look at the statue "Where are you all looking?" She asks and Meliodas looks at her sacred treasure "I'm right here, before my body was completely petrified... I transferred my soul to The Morning Star, Aldan"
"Great!" Arthur cheers "..Actually is that great or not?"
"Well... Not having a body does have some inconveniences, but even with my powers, I can do nothing to undo the 'precepts' of The Ten Commandments.." Merlin says and Aldan floats over to Meliodas "As Galand said the 'precepts' are powers of the demon king... The only thing that could possibly resist them would have to be the power of the goddesses... However, our greatest threat is its sheer strength. We couldn't even lay a finger on him when he was at his weakest"
"A crushing defeat" Meliodas mumbles then turns to the others "hey.. is their still a mark on the back of my neck? ..it should be a heart wrapped in wings"
Elizabeth walks over and looks at the back of his neck to see the mark he was talking about, she hasn't really noticed it before cause he collar was always covering it.

"yes their is" she tells him
"That's great" Meliodas smiles then stands up "Alright! Ayano will punch me for not doing anything, let's come up with some kind of strategy!"
"Uh.. Sir Meliodas.. what is that mark?" Elizabeth asks curiously "is it a tattoo?"
"No" Meliodas looks at her "this is my bond mark, it's what demon's put on their soulmates, it's a mark to tell me and other demons I'm her's.. but if it ever disappears.. well.. it means either she's no longer in love with me or that she dead"
"So.. does this mean Lady Ayano isn't dead?" Elizabeth asks hopefully
"Of course not" Meliodas smiles "she'll be back, just you wait"

"Well thanks to Grandmother and the Demon King I just keep coming back, how long has it been, 100 years since I last died?" Ayano turns to face the angel with beautiful blonde hair and white wings "hello again mother"
