"Severus, can you please Obliviate me?" requests Reggie whilst we saunter out of the great hall. "I really don't want to remember our good friend Aster here sitting on a Puff's lap in the middle of dessert." He scrunches his eyes in disgust.

Pushing his shoulder playfully I retort, "Oh please. You're only annoyed cause it wasn't your lap. Plus, it was better than going up to the Marauders and hexing them." Sev nods in agreement beside me. "At least I didn't end up with detention—"

"Miss O'Connor."

I wince slightly at the realisation that I've spoken too soon and turn around to see a very stern looking McGonagall, her lips pressed into a thin line.

"Evening Professor," I greet wearily.

She clears her throat and peers at me through her rectangular glasses. "Miss O'Connor, when the schools says that it promotes inter-house unity, that does not mean that you can perform such public displays of sexual desire with Mr. Woodcroft."

I hear Reggie and Sev snicker from behind me and have to bite down on my lip to stop myself from slapping them both round the back of the head.

"Boys, you can both continue on your way to your common room," the green clad witch suggests pointedly. "I wish to discuss the matter further with your housemate."

Once they leave, she fixes me with an exasperated look. "I do not want to see this behaviour from you again, no matter how provoked you are. You know how much I believe you could succeed if you stopped being so temperamental."

McGonagall is probably my favourite teacher and some might think that's weird because she's the head of Gryffindor house and not my own. I have lots of respect for the woman. She manages to be assertive and stern whilst also being a wonderful teacher and I have a small inkling that she's really just a big softie who looks at all of her students as if they were her own children.

She's always pushed me to my full potential, and even personally tutored me for a couple sessions when I was falling behind in Transfiguration two years ago. I'd say she probably knows just how important it is to a strict Pureblood family that grades are kept perfectly in check. So in fourth year when I began to get confused, I'd end up stressing myself out and would fall even further behind. Luckily, she noticed my distress and helped me out.

"I can't just let you off the hook for your little performance tonight. Detention. Transfiguration room. Next Friday. Don't be late."

"Ah Minnie, you know you don't have to schedule detentions for us to spend time together." I give her a playful wink. "I know you love me but I'd much prefer Hogsmede than your classroom as a first date."
