"That was such a good performance Y/n! You really rocked it!"

"Thanks, I guess."

Did she not realize I missed three notes?

"Wow, you were so good!"

"Thanks."

Walking through school grounds outside was hectic. I've been in college for three years, and they still treat me like a first year when I perform for them. I pulled my bag off my shoulder digging through it to find my phone as I walked with a fast pace when something huge hit me hard enough for me and it to stumble backwards. I groaned and looked up, "Watch-"

A tall red head stared down at me with his head tilted and a hand over his ear, but a beanie pulled over his head made it impossible to see why. His red hair was long over his ears and hung down his face making him look slightly more intimidating with the added on that he was tall.

Only an inch bigger than me though.

I stared up at him straight faced waiting for him to apologize, but he stayed silent just watching me with a confused expression. A slight grimace of pain was on his face, but that wasn't my problem.

"Are you going to move out of my way?" I deadpanned when I realized he didn't plan on talking.

He shoved his hands in his jacket pockets tilting his head to either side with a painful look. His eyes narrowed on my lips as I spoke then his eyes widened quickly and he nodded. He moved to the side still watching me as I turned to look at him before walking past him. He held the side of his head watching me as I watched him.

"What a freak." I muttered finding my phone and putting my bag back on my shoulder.

It was the first week of school, so I was bound to run into new students, but he looked too old to be a first year. God, transfers are the worst.

"Y/n!" I heard my name and turned my head to the voice.

I grinned wide and opened my arms for the boy, "Semi!"

He ran into my arms scooping me up with his arms around my waist lifting me into the air, "How's music going? I heard people talking about your performance on my way here!"

"Oh god, don't remind me about it." I groaned, "I missed like eight notes."

"That's an exaggeration and we both know it." He swung his arm around me and we both walked into the school together when I saw a red jacket and remembered the red head from before.

"Have you met any red heads who may not like to talk this year?" I asked as we walked towards the dorms.

He hummed a little in thought before shaking his head, "No, I haven't met any red heads at all this year I think. Why?"

He removed his arm at our split between the male and female dorms and looked at me confusedly.

I shook my head smiling, "Nothing, I was just asking cause I heard a rumor that we had a new student that wasn't a first year."

"Oh, well I guess it isn't true cause I know everyone." He laughed, "Goodnight Y/n!"

"Night." I muttered and sped walked towards my dorm room with glances back as if the red head was going to appear.

"Y/n?" A new voice called me making me almost want to cry from the lack of alone time I've been getting recently.

I looked forward to see a girl standing halfway out of my dorm already. Great, a roommate.

"Are you my roommate?" I asked sweeter than I meant to.

"Yes! My name is Keita Asahi! You can choose what to call me!" She seemed just as sweet as I sounded with her chirpy voice and bow, but the way she looked made me raise my eyebrow.

Her jeans were cuffed, and her hair was cropped short just above her shoulders. She shirt was loose, but tucked in at the front of her belt. A perfect bisexual stereotype.

Amused with my analysis, I pushed passed her into the room, "Okay Keita. You already seem to know my name, so I won't bother. What year you in?"

"Second! I know you're in third! I hope you don't mind that I looked at your information when I was assigned the dorm." She nervously held herself at the door.

I rolled my eyes, "Am I that scary? Don't worry. I am easy to get along with if you don't touch my coffee beans or my bed. Good?"

She blushed a little and nodded, "Good!"

"Good." I repeated in a mutter and fell onto my bed satisfied with the way my spine sunk into it and brought instant relief to the tension of my body from the performance I had today.

I heard Keita walk farther into the room and sit on her bed with a small sigh, "So, this is what it's like here. I took my first year online so I don't really-"

She stopped talking in an abrupt way when I turned my head to look at her.

"What is it?" I asked tiredly.

She just laid down on her bed and I smiled at the rigid way she laid with her shoes still on and her hands on her stomach, "It's nothing..."

"You know what Keita?"

"H-hmm..?"

"We're going to be great friends." I grinned at the blush on her face and turned back onto my stomach hugging my pillow and closing my eyes.

The sound of her whispering pulled me out of my light sleep, but I didn't care to look at who she was whispering at until the door closed.

"Who was that?" I whispered sleepily.

"O-Oh, sorry I woke you up. It was just a friend checking up is all."

I hummed in response and drifted back to sleep imagining my fingers running across my piano again gracefully and simply and thanking everything that I was a music major with the ability to touch a piano of the caliber I did today.

Then I remembered.

The boy. The mute.

Not tonight Y/n. It's time for bed.
