Twelve | fish in the sea

Waking up was hell.

My body was more sore than I'd felt in a long time. I was definitely not going to class today. I had to patch things up with Keita, and I had to see how things were going with Semi. Not to mention, I lost Tendou.

Maybe I lost his feelings too.

After all, who would go out with someone who had this much going on.

"Knock knock." A friendly voice called from outside the door as they tapped their knuckles gently against it.

"Come in," I croaked with surprise about how dry my voice sounded.

Asahi stepped through the door wearing an empathetic smile. He carried a box of doughnuts which he sat in the middle of the bed before sitting himself at the end of it, "How are you feeling?"

"Like a manhandled bag of airport luggage." I murmured with my eyes glued to the doughnuts, "Those for me?"

"They absolutely are," He opened the top and gestured for me to take my pick before continuing, "I know how my sister can be. I just wanted to make sure you knew that it isn't a big deal."

"Isn't a big deal? People don't normally start fights over things that aren't a big deal." I told him matter-of-factly in between small bites of the doughnut I'd chosen.

He frowned, "Of course, how she feels is big. But, it's how she feels that doesn't matter."

It was my turn to frown, "I'm not following."

"Y/n, there are a thousand people at the minimum in your grade level alone. Imagine how many others in different grade levels pass you every single day." He threw his hands up as if to emphasize how many people there were.

"What are you trying to say?"

"That just because you met one fish, and it didn't work out, doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of other fish that it will work out with." He took a doughnut for himself and bit into it proudly.

"So, what you're saying is that I should just move on."

"Bingo." He pointed to me with his doughnut.

I got up after finishing my sweet breakfast and moved to the bathroom. I closed the door and began getting dressed absentmindedly, "You know, most people wouldn't encourage their sister's friend to move no from their own sister."

"Most people don't care. I do, so I want to ensure no more drama is passed between you two. Speaking of drama, how's Tendou?" His voice had gotten closer, so I assumed he was right outside of the door.

"He's complicated," I sighed, "It's almost impossible right now to speak to him because we both admitted we don't love each other."

"So you're not dating him?"

"No, but he said he wanted to take it slow and find out what we could be."

"That's a load of shit."

Asahi's cursing startled me. It was way out of his character so much that I had to open the door to face him now with my clothes on and my hair done, "What did you say?"
