I raised my hand to knock then lowered it again fearfully. Thoughts rushed through my head, but not a single one made this any more possible than it was.
The door opened by itself to my surprise revealing Tendou with his phone in his hands. He was wearing flannel pajama pants and a T shirt, and his hair was down and sort of wet like he'd showered not too long ago.
His eyes widened at the sight of me, "What are you doing here?"
"I love you."
I said them out loud. It seemed like we both froze unable to speak or move. Neither of us could make out what I just said.
"You what?" He spoke.
"I love you." I said again this time more sure, "I love you, and I am sorry. I can't deny the feelings I have even if I didn't realize I had them until now. I just-"
He cut me off by pulling me in by my arm and catching me by the small of my back. I gasped realizing I was in his arms and looked up at him, "T-Tendou."
"Y/n," His voice was sober and light, "I was waiting for that confession."
"You were? Does this mean that you..." I looked down at his chest and thought carefully about the placement of my hands against his toned body. I let them snake around him hugging him tightly against me.
He hugged me back forcing all of the tension to leave my body, "Was waiting on you to be ready."
"I'm ready." I whispered knowing he couldn't hear me. I loosened my grip a little to be able to look in his eyes again, "Can I?"
"Do you want to?" He leaned in a little with a teasing grin accentuating his lips.
I nodded without moving closer out of fear. What if he vanished after this? What if our story ended right here?
"What's wrong?" He whispered worriedly.
"I don't want our story to end. Not yet."
"It won't. It's just beginning. Take my hand, it's okay." He pulled my hand into his and squeezed it with an encouraging smile.
I nodded and closed my eyes trying to slow my heart rate. I could feel the rain water gluing my clothes to my body making it even harder to breathe. I felt his breath against my lips and gasped moving closer myself to feel his lips.
His warm dry lips hit my cold wet ones with a gentle passion that I hadn't expected. The fireworks weren't there, but the fire was. His free hand snaked up into my hair and he groaned kissing me harder. I let go of his hand pull his shirt and clutch his arm as he pushed me closer with his hand on my back now.
"Tendou." I whispered against his lips and stepped closer kissing him again. My heart burned as if he'd set me on fire. The burning was so intense, my legs began to shake. I whimpered and shook harder until Tendou stopped so he could hold me.
"It's okay." He soothed and led me to lay with him on his bed.
"Tendou," I whimpered looking at him, "Can we stay like this without it ending?"
"No matter what, I won't leave your side." He kissed my head and looked back at me.
"What about Semi, and what about Keita?"
"What about us? What's good for us? That's what I'm worried about now."
I nodded and leaned closer pressing our heads together. His soothing presence moved me into relaxation. Nothing and no one seemed to matter anymore.
He was with me, and he said he'd never go.
I'm happy.
~
"I'm glad things worked out." Asahi whispered. His hands traced the curve of the umbrella handle as he watched through the window.
Tears strung his eyes as they traced over the way Tendou embraced Y/n. He was the one who called Tendou so he'd open the door when Y/n was too afraid to knock.
He was the one who got her here. Why didn't she see that?
"So happy." He whispered and turned around clutching the umbrella tightly just as Y/n had fallen asleep in Tendou's arms.
