I slumped down the couch, holding Ryujin's necklace that I gave. Oh no, not these hot tears. I got too attached and thought that maybe we had a chance. But no.I can't help but to see how they hugged last night. How much I cried in Yuna and Lia's arms. I'm hurt.
"Yeji! Open up!" I heard Lia's voice from outside my room. "Yeji, let us in please!" Yuna added. I wiped my tears and fixed my hair real quick before letting my friends in.
"How are you feeling?" Lia placed down the milktea she bought for the three of us. "We picked your favorite milktea flavor." Yuna hugged me from behind and wrestle me down my bed. It took a while for her to release me and gave me the tea.
"It's going to be alright, Yeji. Cheer up! Let's go and party later? What do you think?" A party would be nice, but knowing Angel's Euphoria, for sure they'll be there. I can't see her for now. I might end up getting drunk and cry at the corner of the room with a ruined mascara.
"You in, Yeji?" Yuna asked. "It will be fun and I promise that Ryujin won't be there." Upon hearing the name I frowned. "Lia what the hell?" Yuna playfully punched her arm. "The band has practice today so they won't attend Lucas' party tonight."
"Fine, I'll come." They both squeeled and hugged me. "Tonight's going to be fun! Lucas prepared lots of drinks and for sure, ya'll going to be drunk tonight." I feel kinda worried.
"Hey, Yeji!" Euki smiled and ruffled my hair. "How are you doing? Congrats by the way." She pouted.
"We didn't win. But it was fun." She shrugged and walk next to me. "Where are you heading to?" I asked but she shrugged again. "To where you are going."
"I'm going to the library, is that okay?" She smiled cutely at me. "It's fine. As long as I get to be with you." The last sentence confused me. Is she flirting?
"What do you mean, Euki?" She chuckled amd linked her arms to mine. "Nothing~" she churped. "I don't know where to go and hang out so I'll just follow you around." She giggled.
How can I focus on studying if I can feel her gaze on me? It's weird and a bit creepy. I closed the book and crossed my arms.
"Why?" She frowned, her lips forming a pout. "You're staring at me. I couldn't focus."
"Sorry. You are just so cute." She whispered sexily and gave me a wink. What the hell? "I know."
"Pft. Cold." She rests her head on the table and I continue studying.
"I got an invitation today. Party at Lucas Gordon's place? He dmed me just now." I placed my book down and checked out her phone. It really is from Lucas.
"See you there later then? Are you going with your band?" I asked. She pouted and shrugged. "I don't know. I'll ask them later. Are done studying? I'm hungry."
"I know a good place to eat."
"Ryujin that was heavenly. You are an angel." Bumjoon smiled as he takes off his headphones and ruffled my hair. "All we need is to add harmonies and layer some vocals but for now.." He pats my head cooly and smiled. "Let's eat burgers."
"Let's ask Jiseob and Junghyun if they want to come too." I put my shoes back on. I would take my shoes off before recording my vocals, it feels good.
"Did you find your necklace, Ryujin?" He suddenly asked. "I contacted the staff at the event last night, they told me they found nothing. Someone else must have it." I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "I can't just approach Yeji and tell her that I lost the necklace."
Me and the band entered Junior's burger and went straight to the counter.
"Isn't that Yeji? She's with that hot chick from that band last night. The one who won second place." Junghyun whispered. I looked at where he pointed and saw Yeji laughing with Euki. I felt a pamg on my chest. They seem close.
"What are your orders?" Jiseob asks a bit loudly making the Yeji and Euki look at us. I quickly snap my head back at the menu, hoping they wouldn't notice me.
"Ryujin?" I felt a big hand on my head and I immediately removed it. How dare Nicholas touch my hair, I just fixed it after Bumjoon ruffled it.
"What are you doing here?" He crosses his arms and looked at me like I am dumb. "I came here to get burgers. But I'll just order for take-out."
"Or did you just want to Ryujin?" Jiseob covered Junghyun's mouth and scolded him. "Sorry. This boy is just so talkative. Junghyun will shut his mouth and sit at that table quietly, right kid?" He patted the younger guy who is pouting because of the scolding he got from Jiseob.
"Dude, It's alright." Nicholas gave a small smile.
"Let's take out too! I don't really want to dine here. Just want the burgers and get back home." I faked laugh. I'm embarrassed that Yeji is here, plus she's with someone and I don't want to distract.
"You suddenly look tensed? Are you alright?" Euki furrowed her brows as she chewed her food.
"Yeah of course." Not. Ryujin and Nicholas in the same place makes my mood drop. I'm still sulky about them being together in one place. Don't like them seeing together.
"No you don't. Something's wrong. You were just laughing and smiling." She placed down her food and leaned closer.
"You know what? You don't have to tell me why." She smiled and pat my head before she gets back to eating.
I took a quick glace at them and see Ryujin laughing with him. I suddenly thought about the time where we would laugh at the counter and forget our orders. That should be me with Ryujin right now.
"Looking at Ryujin, huh?" I looked back at Euki and she seems serious.
"What? No, I only spaced out.""You're a fan of them, aren't you?" I slowly nod.
"Do you want to know something interesting, Yeji?" She looked down and timidly smiled.
"I was friends with Ryujin, but she doesn't seem to recognize me." She glanced at them and smiled. "We were a singing duo back in grade school, before I moved to Japan. We didn't have a proper goodbye."
"Leaving without a proper good bye is hard." I said.
"That's true, she might be mad and forced herself to forget about me." She shrugged like it was nothing.
"I like Ryujin." I said straight forwardly. "I don't think she likes me back. And I don't think I could approach her anymore, she seems happy to have her love back."
Euki's expression changed. She became more sad. Is my lovelife that depressing?
"Are you good, Euki?" She nods and forced a smile. "I'll head back home now. Prepare for the party tonight." She said.
"Yeah me too. I'll see you later!" She smiled.
"Yeji." I froze on my seat. I was about to head out as well but her voice stopped me.
"W-why? Do y-you need anything?" Damn why is this happening to me?
"Let's hang out tonight." I glanced at her.
"I d-don't know. I'm going to study for a test next week." She nodded and I can see her bandmates and Nicholas on another table, looking at us. "Y-you should go back to your friends, they're waiting for you."
"They don't mind. Can I come over to your house? I can help you study." As I hate to ruin her brightly smile but I can't stand staying with her in one room. I might do something I shouldn't.
"Sorry, Ryujin." For the first time, I saw an unreadable expression on her face. She would always look cool but right now, she looks like she want to lock herself up in her room.
"But we haven't hang out for weeks." Her voice became low.
"Ryuj-" she cuts me off. But I changed my mind. I want to you to come. I want you to be with me tonight.
"Nevermind, Yeji. I'll just hang somewhere else." She then quietly went back to her friends.
