Chapter 22

"Ryujin?" Yeji called out. The latter stood up and took her hood off, smiling to Yeji.

Yeji felt her heart pound for Ryujin again. After all, she loves the girl and no one can stop her from loving her. It's been weeks since she saw those whiskers.

"Hey, let's sit here. Remember this spot?" She said.

"Ryujin, I'm so sorry." Yeji's voice cracked. She was about to cry again but Ryujin held her hand tightly.

"It's not your fault. I chose to break up with you. So I'm the who should be sorry." Ryujin said, still not letting go of the older girl's hand.

"I understand now. You did it for your father." She smiled at Yeji. She feels relieved and happy that Yeji isn't even mad at her.

"I'm glad you understand."

"I'm sorry about my mother. She doesn't accept us. I'm scared about what she might do next." Yeji felt Ryujin's head on her shoulder. It feels comfortable for the both of them.

"Don't worry about it. I'll talk to my dad about the situation. I don't think she'll bother me and my father again." Ryujin sighed. She wants to be with Yeji, she wants her title as Yeji's Girlfriend. She never wanted anyone so bad.

"I guess, you'll be leaving tomorrow?" Yeji lets out a short painful laugh, she can't hide her heartache.

"I'm sorry."

"Do we still have a chance, Ryuddaeng?" Ryujin's heart melted upon hearing her nickname.

"There's still a chance for the both of us. But the timing isn't right, Yeji." Yeji smiled bitterly.

"I can wait for you. I love you, Ryujin."

"I don't think I can handle long distance, Yeji. But I can try." Yeji pulled her to a hug. She feels happy to finally got back to Ryujin again.

"Last show is tomorrow too. I better see you in the crowd for the last time." Yeji intertwined their hands and squeezed in tight.

"I never miss any of your shows, Ryujin." She smirked.

Ryujin took her phone and played her new song.

"This is called Adore by me." Ryujin chuckled.

The song started and Ryujin automatically hummed to it.

"Remember when we sat here for the first time? Back at the meteor shower event?" Ryujin suddenly says after she hums to the song.

"Yeah, what about it?" She smiles and gaze at the stars.

"I did really feel a connection, even now. It really felt like deja vu, like we've done this before." She chuckled.

"I can't deny that. I feel it too, Ryujin." She smiled and wrapped her arms around my waist, her head leaning to mine.

"We are destined." Ryujin giggled.

"Maybe we were together in our past lives." We both laughed. As cheesy and weird it may sound like but I really think that. What if we really were together in our last lives to feel like this.

"I hope that we'll still be together in our next lives too." Ryujin said, more serious this time. "I want to spend my forever with you, even as generations or centuries pass by, even when we're far in our next lives, I hope to find my way back to you." She added. Why does it feels like this scene is familiar?
