Ava's POV.
Today is the funeral. I never thought this day would come, especially this quick. Hayley saved me. I had my speech card in my hands, and I had to be careful not making the speech too long. I get into a black dress, and Taylor, Jeremy, and Lauren are gonna ride in the same car to the funeral home. I'm not ready for the viewing, but I get to say my final, but not final goodbye. I hear the door knock, and I tell whoever it is to come in. It was Taylor, Jeremy, and Lauren. I gave them all hugs, and we exchanged the "I'm sorry's", and we got into the car. Taylor drives to the funeral home, and no one says a word. We get there, and we arrive at the funeral home. I see Hayley's parents, and I walk to shake their hand and give them a hug.
"Ava, Hayley loved you will all of her heart." Her mother said.
I nodded my head, because I didn't know what to say. Taylor and Jeremy entered the viewing room first, and I could hear Taylor crying from outside. I let out a sigh of sadness. I wasn't ready to go in and see Hayley's dead body, but I needed to. I waited for Taylor and Jeremy to leave, and Lauren said she would go in with me, and then leave me alone. Taylor and Jeremy left the viewing room, and my heart started pouding. I went in with Lauren, and I saw her. I start to cry, but I tell Lauren that that I'll be okay. I walk up to Hayley, and I hold her hand. Her hand was very cold, but I didn't mind.
"I'm thinking of the future, babe" I said with tears streaming down my face. "I love you."
I was there holding her hand for a few minutes, before her friend Joy wanted to enter the room. Before I left, I put my 3 bar stud necklace in her hand, and then clasped it shut. Joy nodded at me, and I left the viewing room. A few minutes after that, the preacher went up and asked everyone to sit down. He did the sermon, and then called Taylor and Jeremy up, and Jermey began to speak.
"I remember when Paramore first formed, and I called her spongebob. Well, that time was almost 11 years ago. I've known Hayley for as long as I can remember, and being 29, that's a lot of years. Hayley had a thankful spirt, and had goals she set and achived. This woman made history, musically, just everything. Always changing her hair color, and let's not forget, headbanging. She was very passionate, on the stage and off the stage, and had a very caring heart. She always defened the ones she loved, and she died doing it. I think that's the definition of love, and no one could do it as better as Hayley."
I smiled, and Jermey smiled back at me. It was Taylor's turn.
"Even though I haven't known Hayley as long as Jeremy, Hayley will always have a special place in my heart and will always be my best friend. When the band had a horrible spilt, I didn't know Hayley well, and I was closer to the members who left. Hayley took me to a concert and out to eat, and she said 'Taylor, it's okay for you to leave. I understand' and I said, 'Hayley, no. There are many things I need to to in this band. I'm not going anywhere.' And that was the day I started being good friends with her. I'm pretty sure she's changed her hair color as much as I changed my clothes, but hey, that's Hayley. I want people to remember she would die for those who she loved, she was very passionate on what she does, and hangbaging is crucial!"
People clapped, and Taylor let out a smile. That's the first time I've seen Taylor smile since Hayley's passing, and I got very happy. Taylor brought me up to the podium, and I left my notecard behind. I began to speak."Hayley. I've never seen a great person who could be so thankful, caring, and have a tremdous heart. Now, you may not picture it, but I met her at a bar and fangirled. I thought I was just gonna get an autograph on a napkin, but no! She gives me her number. And that's when I knew I was trapped and falling in love with her. She showed me things about the world and crossed off things on my bucket list. Like, seeing the moon set, and going to Germany, just to name a few. Hayley had a contagious laugh, and you always had to laugh with her. Her hair was as bright blue as an ocean in the Bajamas, but that could very, based on what color she'd want to dye her hair next. Now, I'm not gonna make this long, so long story short. Hayley saved me. She saved me in every way a person can be saved. She saved my life, and saved me from myself. There are more things I could say, but that would take an eterinty. Rest in peace, my love" I said looking down at her, trying not to cry.
The people at the funeral were touched, and it was time for the burial. We drove to the cemetary, and the gravestone was engraved with,
"Hayley Williams. 1988-2015"
I also had the 3 bars engraved in it, along with the Wayne's World logo. After the body was buried, everyone cried, including me. Lauren even cried, and she usually the one who doesn't cry as much. Shortly after, we went to a country club to celebrate Hayley's life, and we did a toast.
"To Hayley" Jeremy said.
"To Hayley" We chanted back.
