I was stalking Mr. Park's so-called love of his life on Facebook when I felt the need to pee.
Grabbing the keys of our office and one sanitary napkin, I logged off my Facebook account and closed our door.
We have two ladies restroom on our floor. One was located inside the pantry and the other was at the far end almost beside the COO's office.
Our COO was never seen and was never known. No, he isn't dead or found dead. It's just that his presence was never felt.
He barely went to meetings. He was barely seen inside the resort.
All we know about him was he spent a lot of time outside the country probably having the time of his life while us, lowly employees worked hard for his resort.
She must be having her break and politely greeted me.
I went inside a cubicle and did my business. As soon as I was done, I went to the sink and washed my hands.
I was about to head outside the restroom when I heard someone talking over the phone.
"Oo, hindi pa naman sya nakakahalata. Nasusunod ko ang plano kaya hindi mo ko kailangang madaliin."
I frowned and silently stepped closer to press my ear on the thin wall of one of the cubicles.
"Look, Ken. Kung inaayos mo kasi plano diba! Wag ako ang pagbuntunan mo ng mga hanash mo sa buhay!"
I could hear the desperation and annoyance in her voice. When I heard her flush the toilet, I quietly hurried out the restroom and walked briskly to our office.
I don't know who was inside that certain cubicle.
All I know is that I am in danger. Me and my kids are.
Looks like I will be going to Manila in a much earlier schedule.
I drank cold water as soon as I stepped inside our office. I could still feel my heart racing at the encounter.
Whoever she was, someone is already watching my every move.
Kenneth really has returned.
I was startled when my phone rang and I immediately answered the call.
"Mamsh! I missed you!" Giselle's high-pitched voice rang in my ears the moment I answered her call.
I sighed in relief.
"Lo? Andyan ka pa ba, Mamsh?" Giselle asked over the phone.
"Yes. I'm here." I answered and tried to make my voice normal.
"I'm back here in the Metro and saw pretty clothes for Olga and Oliver. I was wondering when can I give them to you. Can we meet?" Giselle asked.
I thought for a minute and tried to process her sentence.
"Nako naman. Hindi na kailangan pero salamat, mamsh!" I exclaimed and smiled kahit hindi nya nakikita.
"Hay nako. Love na love ko kaya 'yang kambal na yan. Kaya, hayaan mo akong mamigay ng mga needs nila, mamshie." Giselle said.
I can almost see her shaking her head.
I let out a nervous laugh. I realized I still don't have the energy to talk so I said my goodbyes and hung up.
I was about to walk towards my chair when someone held my shoulders.
I shrieked in surprise.
"Oli!" Mr. Park said and caressed my shoulder. "Hey! Ako to! Relax!"
I opened my eyes and saw Mr. Park's worried face.
My hands were still trembling in fear and I decided to hide it from him.
"Oli, ssshh.." I slumped into Mr. Park's arms and tried to control my shakened heart. I could feel cold sweat and my breathing quickened.
It took me almost ten minutes to finally calm down.
Mr. Park sat me on the couch and gave me a glass of water and stared at me inquisitively.
"I won't ask anything. Just feel comfortable. When you're ready, you can tell me anything." He said and got up.
I watched him went to his table and pulled out cadbury chocolate bar.
He returned to the couch and sat beside me. He handed me the chocolate bar.
"Here. This might calm you down. " Mr. Park said and kept silent.
I sighed and tore open a part of the wrapper. I softly bit on the corner. It was all I could do to relax myself.
"Thank you, Park." I finally said. I nibbled again on the chocolate and wiped the trickle of sweat on my neck and forehead.
"Pwede ko bang simulan ang deal naten ng mas maaga?" I asked and looked at him. "It would benefit you since it takes a lot of time to build friendship with your girl."
"Uhm. Okay?" Mr. Park said baffled.
I sighed again and started talking about the past I chose to forget for a long time.
"So, is he the father of your twins?" Mr. Park finally asked.
I shook my head.
"No. He isn't. I know what I felt everytime I see him. He may have destroyed my innocence before. But I'm still in my right mind not to give out to him. I met someone and had a one-night stand. I never met him after." I admitted and chewed on the sweets I have been engaging myself into for the last five minutes.
Mr. Park heaved a sigh of relief.
"At least, hindi siya ang ama. Pero gago pa din sya. " Mr. Park said.
We spent a moment of silence and resumed our work as if nothing happened. He promised me that he'll make sure that guy won't step into our resort.
I was thankful for him. He started to become a friend since the day he drove me home.
It was a fresh start for me. I barely have anyone close since Giselle and my cousin, Louisse.
