"Here's your food. That'll be a dollar fifty," said the cafeteria lady, placing the large slice of pizza on a paper plate. I stuck my hand into my pocket, rummaging for some change but my eyes slowly widened as I realised that...

These weren't my pants.

"Do you have the money or not?" asked the cafeteria lady, impatiently drumming her fingers on the counter. I let out a stiff chuckle.

"S-S-Sorry, I forgot to bring money," I said sheepishly.

"If you can't pay, then you can't get any food," she sighed. "Next!"

"I'll take it," said a husky voice. I squeezed my eyes shut, holding back a groan.

Out of all the people that could have appeared, it just had to be her.

I finally re-opened, turning towards Jisoo who handed the lady the money. Lisa was standing beside her, stabbing me a cold stare. I scowled.

What's up with that?

"Thank you!" Beamed the cafeteria lady in a completely different tone. Just a few seconds ago, she was glaring at me like I was the biggest nuisance in the world but look at her now, batting her eyes and talking in a shy voice as if she was 18 again.

I watched her hand her the pizza.

"Please come again soon!" she exclaimed. Jisoo gave her a small nod and smile, taking the slice of pizza and walking away with Lisa.
I quickly followed them, having to jog just to catch up.

"Jisoo!" I called, stopping her. I pointed at the pizza in her hand. "That's mine."

She looked at it and then looked back at me and smiled, biting into it. My jaw fell wide open as I stared at her.

"You monster," I gasped under my breath.

"Now it's mine," she winked. Okay, I knew I was supposed to be mad, but she looked like one of those cute girls on a pizza commercial, smiling at me so innocently that it made it hard for me to stay annoyed.

"No, it's not," I huffed stubbornly.

"Remind me, who's the one who paid for it?" she asked, pretending to be deep in thought.

Lisa snickered as Jisoo calmly took another bite of the pizza and I swallowed back the saliva in my mouth, clenching my fists.

"Well, sir, I forgot that I was wearing your-" I froze, quickly clearing my voice. "I forgot to put some change in my pockets this morning, alright?"

I then looked back towards lisa who studied me from head to toe without discretion, before giving me a nasty glare. Something was telling me that he didn't like me very much, but it went both ways.

"Why is your friend staring at me like that?" I hissed, voicing my thoughts. "You know it's basic courtesy not to stare."

Come on ruby, are you really going to pick a fight with someone right now? You just got beaten to a pulp the other day and you're already asking for a black eye?!

But something about her just irked me. Looking at her be so friendly and stand so closely to Jisoo just ticked me off.

"For someone so short, you sure do have a big mouth," she retorted, snapping me out of my thoughts. I gritted my teeth

Jennie, keep calm. Just calm down and quietly walk away, you don't need to-

I smirked, raising an unamused brow.

"Oh yeah? And how's the weather up there, Jack and the beanstalk?"

Of course.

Lisa took a step forwards, narrowing her eyes on me with a stiff expression on her face. I had to raise my head just to look her in the eyes, her tall height dawning over me. I held back a gulp, clenching my fists and standing my ground. She could probably knock me out, considering how tall and fit she looked, but there was no way that my pride was going to back down, no way in hell.

"You aren't so smart trying to pick a fight with someone twice your size," she snorted. "So why don't you beat it before I do?"

"Finally a rich bitch who wants to fight. I've been missing my old high school days, maybe you'll bring back the good old memories," I chuckled coldly. Lisa's jaw tightened and I could sense that she was seconds away from losing her temper.

"You're really starting to get on my nerves," she hissed.

A sardonic grin spread across my face as I slowly raised my right hand, flicking her a finger.

"Well deal with it, bitch."

I could see the anger boil up towards her face that reddened almost immediately.
But before she could murder me, Jisoo quickly stepped in between us, pulling us apart and stepping inbetween. I scowled, not liking the fact that they touched and then mentally scolding myself for thinking that.

Yeah, a lot of things were going on in my mind.

"It's just a slice of pizza," she sighed. But something was telling me that it was more than just about some slice of pizza. Lisa and I were still glaring at each other as if we were now fighting with our eyes.

I clicked my tongue.

"Yeah, whatever, keep your dumb pizza," I growled, finally deciding to just drop it. I roughly pushed past the both of them.

"Jennie," called Jisoo. I hesitated but firmly pressed my lips, turning around.

"What do you want?"

Jisoo flicked something shiny off of the tip of her thumb and I caught it. I furrowed my brows, opening my fist. There was a two coin sitting in the palm of my mind. My eyes widened and I looked back towards Jisoo who was already walking away.

"Buy yourself another pizza and stop scowling, you'll grow wrinkles," she said. lisa gave me one last glare before following him.

I wrapped my fingers around the coin and felt a small smile tug at the tip of my lips.

Alright, so maybe.

Just maybe.

I liked her a little bit more than I should.
