The ambulance came within seconds, a group of paramedics jumping out and barking orders. We were told to step away from Seulgi and watched as they put her on a stretcher, carrying her into the back of the bright red vehicle before zooming out of the parking lot within seconds.Rose, Irene and I were ordered to take the second ambulance, the three of us anxiously praying for Seulgi to be okay. When we arrived at the hospital, we were refused entry to the emergency room where they had transferred Seulgi, and despite Irene's pleas, they were firm and strict about their regulations. So instead, we were told to sit in the waiting room until our parents came pick us up.
We were told a few days later that Seulgi was going to be okay but that she was still in a coma. Visitations weren't allowed for another two weeks and while she was in the hospital recovering, the three of us had to were summoned by the police as witnesses of the incident and had to explain what had happened.
We didn't want to expose Rose and so ended up lying to cover her, saying that a random guy tried to steal our wallets while we were fooling around in an abandoned building and shot Trevor when we refused.
As for school, things were different. Irene hasn't been acting like herself and has been spacing out a lot. I mean, just the other I saw her bump into a trash can and apologize to it as if it were an actual person. I've never seen her go anywhere without Seulgi by her side so seeing her by herself just felt so weird, like a part of her was missing.
As for Rose, the bubbly little kid wasn't as cheerful or joyful as she usually always was, avoiding both Irene and I. She'd ignore or calls and texts and whenever we tried to talk to her upfront, she'd just find a way to slip away.
I turned to the side and glanced towards Jisoo who was sound asleep and frowned.
Even she was ignoring me.
The bell rang and I felt my stomach squeeze.
Alright, Jennie, it's now or never.
"H-H-Hey Jisoo," I stuttered a dry voice. She woke up, completely ignoring me and grabbing her bag, slinging it over her shoulder as she headed out of the classroom. I gritted my teeth, hastily grabbing my things and pacing after her. "Jisoo!" I shouted more loudly, but she continued to ignore me so I decided to run in front of her and block her path. She finally stopped, narrowing her rigid, cold eyes that made me involuntarily gulp.
"What?" She growled.
"Are you still mad at me?" I demanded.
"No."
Yup, she was definitely still mad at me.
"You already passed your redos, what else do you want from me?" She muttered.
"Well," I mumbled, shifting my eyes to the side as I searched for something to say. What did I want from herll? "I... I don't know, it's just that you're ignoring me and it's really starting to get on my nerves."
"And why should I care?"
"Because-" I stopped. I miss talking to you. "It just doesn't feel right leaving things like this. Look, I know I bailed on you last minute but I had a good reason!"
"Oh?" She mused, raising an unimpressed brow. "And why was that?"
My lips parted but I quickly pursed them back together, not wanting to expose Rose. "I... I can't tell you."
"Right," she grunted, roughly pushing past me. Okay, so I guess that wasn't the best answer I could have given her, but we all know how bad I am at lying.
