The sun shined causing the desert to be hot...blazing hot to be exact. You mentally cursed yourself for heading towards the Hidden Sand Village without anyone else. You couldn't remember why you were even heading there. Oh wait, you remembered. Your cousin, Mio, invited you over for a few months to help out with her family-in-laws' business. Seeing as you had nothing better to do and you enjoyed visiting new settings, you decided to take her up on her offer. Now, you regretted it. The sun was too hot. You had to resort to putting your (h/c) hair back into a messy bun, stripped down to a single black tank top, and rolled up your modest pants. Even then, it did nothing. You groaned.

"Why is it so damn hot?" You muttered.

Being midday, the sun heated the white sand to its hottest temperature. Without a cloud around, the light was reflected in a vicious cycle above and below. It was inhumanly cruel to think that while the heat sucked the life out of you, the nighttime was almost worse. The minute the sun sunk into the horizon; temperatures well reached near the teens. That meant if you didn't reach the Hidden Sand Village soon, you might spend another night shivering as you curled up into almost every single piece of clothing you bought along for the trip.

Shaking the thought out of your head, you forced your way up along another hill. Your sandals slipped into the sand, sending little bits tumbling downwards, but you muscled your way upwards. It took a lot of effort considering that it was easy enough to slip. You sucked in a breath as you stood on top. Sand and a cloudless sky stretched out for miles before you. It was almost too breathtaking for any person.

"That's beautiful!"

If you didn't have anywhere to be or needed to worry about running out of supplies, you would have stayed there watching the view. After another second of sightseeing, you took a step forward. The sand underneath your feet began to slide rapidly. Your (e/c) eyes widened as you found yourself tumbling forward. A scream escaped your lips. The world spun around in a blur of bright blue and cream.

Your body continued to roll as you squeezed your eyes shut. Suddenly, you collided with something hard. You yelped at the pain, completely immobilized as the object fell backwards onto you, crushing your lungs. A few moments passed before the object moved, you gasped for oxygen. Slowly, you opened your eyes to peer at what you hit. However, two blue eyes stared back at you. Screaming, you hurled your fist at the figure, who jumped back. A cute blonde-haired male with a black cloak with red clouds eyed you from a safe distance.

"Hey!" the male said.

Embarrassed that you had not only probably knocked him over but also attempted to punch him, you just laid there with your cheeks burning.

"Sorry!" you replied.

The male continued to stare. His hands trailed to the inside of his cloak as he seemed to be grabbing for something. However, you failed to notice since you looked back at the hill you fell. A perfect foot impression of you slipping caused you to sigh.

"I didn't mean to knock you down." You added rubbing the back of your head, "I kind of lost my footing and kind of fell."

Silently staring at you, he moved his hands away from his cloak. He seemed to be thinking as he glanced up at the hill then back to you. Without warning, he burst out laughing. You flinched before your face felt like it was on fire.

"You fell down the hill?" He asked.

"Yes."

Picking yourself up, you brushed off as much sand as you could manage. This, of course, failed epically seeing as sand gets everywhere. You felt like such an idiot. It made it worse because this guy was hot.

"So besides falling down sand hills, what are you doing out here in the desert?" He said.

You winced before looking at him. He flashed you a cocky smile.

"I'm kind of heading towards the Hidden Sand Village."

His smile grew.

"What?" You muttered, "Why are you smiling about?"

"I'm heading for the Sand Village too."

"Oh, is that so?"

"Yeah."

You could tell where this was heading. Your heart skipped a beat as you silently hoped that this mysterious male would ask first. After all, you didn't want to seem too desperate since you were the one to bowl him over.

"Would you mind if I travel with you?" He said, "I'm lost."

"You're lost?" You giggled.

"Yeah."

The image of him traveling endlessly across the desert caused you to laugh. Normally, you would be a little weary of traveling with someone you just met, but there was strength in numbers when heading to the Hidden Sand. Besides, you knew it would be rude to ditch someone who's lost.

"Well, I guess you can travel with me." You shrugged.

You gave him the best smile you could manage.

"So since we're traveling together, I guess I should tell you my name." You added. "The name is (f/n) (l/n)."

He nodded his head before pointing at himself.

"My name is Deidara."
