=========Somewhere in the Hidden in the Rain===========
Pein rested against a large gray bean bag chair in the middle of the vast room inside his tower. Purple lights beamed down on him coating everything in an unnaturally eerie glow. He could hear the rain against the roof above his head, and for once, he felt himself slicking into the chair with his eyes shut. The last of the rebels who had supported Hanzo recently died at the hands of Konan. The Hidden Leaf Village called to the Rain for the latest Chunnin Exam meaning he would have to search through the ranks for promising Genin, the Rain had to make a good impression since no one knew Hanzo died. The Akatsuki remained secretive with the help of their underlings and spies. The Hidden Sand Village relieved the Anbu from the Leaf after they searched the desert for Deidara and Sasori. The only threat to the Akatsuki lurked with Orochimaru and his followers. The last he heard, the snake hid himself inside a newly formed village called the Hidden Sound.
Konan entered the room through the massive twin doors. Her eyes locked on Pein resting on his chair. Debating if she should bother him, she glanced back at the figure cloaked in black. Normally, she wouldn't allow a spy to enter Pein's Tower, but the spy claimed he had something vitally important to speak to Pein that it couldn't be discussed through a letter.
"Pein." Konan called out.
The ginger sat back up in the chair and looked towards the two of them.
"Yes?" He said. He had been unsure to how long he had been trapped in his relaxed state.
"We have an important message just come in from Hakone near the Hidden Leaf Village."
She motioned towards the spy behind her. The spy waved from his spot. Pein didn't bother to wave back.
"What is so important that you have come here?" He spoke. His voice seemed to echo off the walls causing the spy to shove his hands underneath his cloak.
"Sir, Leader, sir." the spy bowed his head repeatedly. "The Sannin, Orochimaru, he entered my village almost a few days ago. He murdered the two spies that you sent to infiltrate the Hidden Sound Village."
So, that was the reason Pein didn't hear anything else about the Hidden Sound. He assumed that they endured a situation where they couldn't message the Akatsuki out of fear of being caught. How did Orochimaru find out so quickly? No one knew about their connections to the Hidden Rain. He ensured their records been wiped perfectly clean of any connection to any major village. Maybe, it hadn't been as fool proof as he assumed. Though, he didn't have to completely worry with one of Sasori's many spies still lingering around Orochimaru. However, that left the question of what Orochimaru was doing heading for the Leaf.
"What exactly happened?" He asked, "How did Orochimaru kill the spies?"
"No one knows how he murdered them." the spy answered, "They were found hanging by the village entrance with snakes slithering all over them. He had been spotted in the village. I saw him myself."
"And the spies were with him when he entered the village?"
"Yeah, they wouldn't leave him alone for even a second."
He might have been wrong. The spies could have been murdered for hanging too close to Orochimaru for his liking, which resulted in him getting rid of them. If the snake actually went to the Leaf, he wouldn't have wanted anyone hanging onto him in fear of being found out before his goal was reached. Whatever goal that might be, the Akatsuki would just sit back and watch. It might benefit them when it came to capturing the Nine Tailed Fox.
