4. Clarity

Minhyuk grabbed a seat on the chair from the desk while Changkyun leaned on the desk. Me and Ahli were both seated on the bed across from them, keeping a cautious distance from them. I respected them both immensely as a fan, but I also was very on edge because of last night. The intimidation wasn't coming from Minhyuk surprisingly, but from the serious expression from Changkyun. I felt my hands slightly quiver.

"So to begin, you can already guess who and what I am. Minhyuk from Monsta X, who is a vampire." Minhyuk said under a whisper how stupid he sounded.

He continued, "I feel extremely guilty about last night. I hate feeding off of people and off of women no less, but when a vampire has been starved off blood and haven't learned to feed off of other living things, they have difficulty controlling themselves and their thirst. I really tried my best to control myself and I even tried telling you to get away from me if you remember." I nodded at his words, even though I was still in shock of what I was hearing.

"Also, I regret feeding off you especially since you're a fan of mine. I can't imagine how that betrayal must have felt for you." He said solemnly. My eyes widened at his words.

"I accept your apology, you're not completely at fault. And you are partly right, but fans never really truly know their idols," I paused, "How did you know I was a fan of yours?" I asked with a small shake in my voice. I picked at my fingers in response to my nervousness.

"Vampires can have additional abilities aside their enhanced human features. Mine is the ability to read minds, and when I touch someone, I can see into their recent memories. After you passed out, I read your memories from the past day so I could bring you back home. I didn't want to leave you on the street, but then I found that you went to the TwoTuckGom store that day. It made me feel even worse when I found out who you were."

"Well, I really appreciate that of you." I said softly. I noticed I keep eye contact with him rather easily, but the nervousness was really tugging at me. It was a strange feeling.

"I never got your name you know, I'd feel a little better if I did." He said with a hint of a soft smile tugging at his lips.

"Abel. And my friend is Ahli, short for Ahlianna." Ahli gave a small wave to the both of them. They both nodded in return. 

A pause of silence fell upon us. It was both awkward and comforting as it gave us a moment to process. I still picked at my fingers in thought and I could feel Ahli worriedly staring into my back.

Changkyun broke the silence in that deep voice that made me jump just a bit, "You're not gonna tell her?" He tapped Minhyuk on the shoulder.

"Yes, we should get to that too. There's another thing I have to tell you, and it's much more serious." He straightened himself in the chair, preparing for what he was about to say, but I thought it was going to be something different.

"W-We won't tell anyone. Before now I wasn't one hundred percent sure it was you so I couldn't report you and I'd still sound crazy anyways, but now I definitely won't. I wouldn't want to risk your career." I blurted out, but soon regretted it.

"Oh no, I trust you on that, you seem like a very respectful fan, but it's something much more different," Minhyuk paused trying to choose his words carefully, "See, vampires can sometimes do this thing called marking. Most of the time it is involuntary, but it can happen when a vampire feeds off a human."

Once again, I spoke without thinking, "Well of course when you feed off someone it can leave a mark."

He gave a small laugh, "Yes, but no. Have you noticed that where I bit you hasn't turned into a scab?" He pointed at my neck.
