"So, your just gonna let him go?" Strider asked his Father.

"Why do you even care," Sizzle said to him.

Strider stiffened and said "because he's my brother! He could get hurt!"

Although Strider still kind of wondered if Scorch COULD get hurt, he was a really good fighter. Plus, even if he did get hurt, he would probably get over it pretty quickly.

Sizzle snorted and pointed at father. "Father do you care if Scorch gets hurt?"

Father stared at her for a few seconds and then answered.
"N- No. Of course not."

After Dad had responded Sizzle turned her head towards Strider and made a "See? I'm right" kind of look.

Strider was certain that she had enchanted him, it seemed really obvious. He wished she hadn't though, because that could mean a lot more things, not to mention her SOUL.

Strider looked back Father who had his head facing towards the window.

"Sizzle, a word please." Strider said angrily at her.

"What?" Sizzle asked innocently.

Strider pointed towards a different part of the room. "Let's go somewhere more private." Strider said to her, trying not to grit his teeth.

"Why not here?" Sizzle demanded as she glanced over at Father who was still staring blankly at the window behind them.

"Just do it please," Strider said walking into the other sturdier and tidier room, expecting her to follow.

Through gritted teeth Sizzle came, walking stiffly through the dark brown door and closing it a little hardly behind her.

"What is it?" She said out of ear shot from Dad.

"You know exactly what it is! Did you enchant Father? What ridiculous object did you use this time!" Strider cried.

Sizzle huffed and looked away. "I have no idea what your talking about you camel brain."

Strider could tell she was lying. She HAD to be lying, father would never let Scorch go apply for the Sandwing army when he's still a dragonet!

"Tell me the truth!" Strider demanded looking into her dark eyes.

"I am telling you the truth," she said pushing him aside and stomping out of the room angrily.

"I know your lying!!" He called as she went out the mane door out of the house.

"Lying about what?" Father demanded, turning his head from the window towards Strider.

Strider forgot about how they had kept it a secret from Dad about how Sizzle had obviously been using her magic even after Mom and Dad had instructed never to use it. The reason was because Dad might call extreme measures, but a tiny part of the reason was because Sizzle had threatened to turn his nose into a scorpian and have it sting him all the time if he ever told Dad.

"Umm, a- about how she ate all my lizards I was saving!" Strider said quickly.

"I didn't know Sizzle likes lizards, I never see her eating any," Father said glancing at the door.

"Well ummm- she does- now, and she ate all of mine, and- actually I don't think I care anymore," Strider said seeing the look on his Dad's face.

"Hhhhmmmmm... Alright I guess. There are lots of lizards by the great rocks if you wanna hunt there I guess."

"Ummm- sure- I'll uuhhh-- I'll- I'll go hunting right now," Strider said quickly going out the door before his father said anything else.

Guess I'm stuck hunting now, he thought, heading toward the great rocks. That was the place they always would race to after school.

If Sizzle could enchant something to change Dad's mind, then could she do that to me? Or scorch? Or anybody else? What if she already has? What if I'm not even thinking my own thoughts right now?

He calmed himself and continued flying nervously and angrily and sadly at the same time.
