Strider had found the shape of the palace in the distance, and even from a long ways aways it still looked huge. And as he got closer, he had found the shape of the SandWing armies, waiting for the RainWing's approach.

The sun seemed to scratch his burnt tail more than he liked. His worm, SandWing scales weren't on his tail anymore, making it look as black as a NightWing's tail, except kind of all bent.

Strider felt like he couldn't trust anyone anymore, he didn't know why. For some reason the expected betrayal of his sister seemed so... Not expected.

Didn't she love father as much as anyone else? And why did she even kill him? Did she go insane?

No, she can't be insane just yet... I know she hasn't done that much spells... Wait. I have no idea how many spells she has done behind my back- I only know the ones shes done right in front of me.

Maybe that was just how it went. Every animus would eventually go insane, and there was no way to avoid that.

Does that mean I have to save everyone from me and her? No- I've only done two spells in my entire life- but what if that's not how it works?

Argh! This is so frustrating.

He had had to stay low from there, knowing that if the army saw the shape of him flying in the distance, they might think he is an enemy RainWing spy or something. Then he was pretty sure that would waste a lot of time he could be saving his brother.

He breathed heavily, taking a break on the sand, hidden in overlapping layers of sand. Getting to finally touch the sand after this long felt amazing. I could stay here forever...

He jerked his head up, trying to stop himself from sleeping. He hadn't slept at all last night while he was waiting for Cacti- which had been the worst decision of his life.

Don't fall asleep.

Strider knew he was gonna fall asleep if he did this, so he quickly got up and began walking towards a battle between two tribes. And one if those tribes, was his.

Strider wasn't really a kind of... To say... "Scared" dragon. He wasn't exactly feeling very heroic either. He was just... Strider. Yep, that's me. Strider. And currently I haven't been much use.

"Hey!" A cracked voice called from behind Strider.

Strider nearly fell over on the sand from the sudden call. He quickly turned around and scanned the area, but all he saw was sand and the distant shapes of his home.

He got a sinking feeling in his stomach. A RainWing? Please don't be a RainWing.

Strider noticed something like a snout sticking out of the ground. Then, large part of the sand behind the snout rose up and fell off of pale yellow scales. It was a SandWing.

"Wheres your armor? Are you one of those puny dragonets who always stupidly prances their way on to our fields?"

Strider, not knowing what to say, was silent.

"Speak, kid! Or I'll make you!"

Before Strider could speak, another voice spoke from somewhere else. "Scorpion! Get back in your position you idiot!"

"Shut up, you two!"

Then the battle started here. Several RainWings appeared out of no where, shot out of the sky, and spit venom at all four of them.

Only three of them were able to dodge and avoid it, including Strider, but Scorpion was not as lucky. Scorpion was now screaming an ear-bleeding scream as the venom melted his open wound on his shoulder where armor was not placed. Strider looked away quickly from Scorpion.

More SandWings shot up from the sand, blasting fire and swinging their venomous tails at the RainWings. This gave Strider a distraction to be able to get out of there.

How could Scorch ever want to do this as his life?

Scorch was never really that nice to Strider. But he wasn't like, A really big jerk to Strider either. Strider knew that Scorch still loved him. Of course he loves me.

Strider flew as fast as ever, trying to get to Scorch before it was too late. He also didn't particularly want to get shot in the eye balls by deadly venom.

Once he made it to the larger, and nearly complete force of the SandWing armies, he practically got trampled on while looking through the crowd of fighting and screaming RainWings and SandWings for his brother.

Blood had been flung on to Strider out of nowhere, and some had managed to get into his mouth while he had been shouting his brother's name.

Strider dove out of the way of a crashing RainWing and swing himself back to the sand from a flinging venomous tail. He than got his own tail stepped on a by a SandWing, causing him to let out a scream of pain.

Where are you Scorch!

Perhaps maybe Scorch wasn't here, and maybe the general had decided he wasn't ready for a full-on battle yet. Maybe Scorch hadn't even made it into the SandWing military at all.

But sure enough, he spotted his brother.

Scorch was fighting a Purple RainWing with fierce punches and scratches. That's what was unusual about Scorch, he fought mostly with punches.

The RainWing tried to open their mouth to shoot venom, but Scorch grabbed their mouth with his on claws and slammed it shut, perhaps even breaking some of the RainWings teeth from the force. Then he drove them into the ground and rose his venomous tail to stab them.

At least Scorch is alive. But what do I do now? Warn him? What would that do? Wouldn't Sizzle just kill him anyways with her unlimited power?

The RainWing let out a squeal and tried to struggle, but that only lasted a second before Scorch killed them in a single blow. Then Scorch tore away from the RainWing. He then stopped abruptly, noticing Strider.

"What in the moons are you doing here!?" Scorch hissed to Strider.

Before Strider could say something, he noticed in the corner of his eyes another pair of a RainWing and a SandWing were fighting. Except this time, the RainWing's spear abruptly struck away from the SandWing, flinging the RainWing along with it as they held on, as if the spear had a mind of its own. It was heading right for Scorch's chest.

"Look out!" Strider cried, leaping towards Scorch.

But it was too late, the spear plunged right into Scorch's chest.

Scorch looked over at Strider. "Tell father I'm sorry.'

"If I could, I would," Strider said.

"What-" Scorch said, and then clasped to the sand, making sand fly up from the ground in a puff.

Scorch was dead.
