He couldn't help but stare out at the setting sun as they flew, with two dragons supporting him in the air.

The three dragonets were gone now, probably back to their families by now. He had kinda thought the littlest  one, Cacti, was like him when he was younger.

Soon enough they were there, landing in a Sandwing village. They had landed right next to a hut with a dead grass-covered wooden roof, and the outside walls looked like sandstone. There was also no door to the hut, just a small walkway into there.

Doesn't look very safe.

"We are here," Dromedary said, supporting Strider with Pecarry as they walked through the small opening. Both of them had to duck their heads on the way in.

The floors were solid stone, which made this place feel even more unsafe. It didn't seem like a very big hut either. There were five empty wooden beds, with blankets sprawled on the top messily. There was also a wooden desk that had a broken leg with medical supplies plastered on top of the table. Also three torches a good equal distance from each other to light the room.

It didn't look nearly as professional as the ones he had seen near their home. But then again, that was probably because they lived right next to a battle training field for the sandwing army. He should be grateful, this is a lot better than nothing.

He also noticed tiny letters carved in the wood of the beds, the bed closest to them was labeled '1', and the beds after that were labeled '2', '3', '4', and '5'.

The two Sandwing healers led him over to the bed labeled '1', and then helped him onto it. After that, they got to work. He saw them pull out tissues and large, White bandages, but everything else was out of his view. He felt a lot of pain from whatever they were doing to him.

After they finished he peered out his tail, which was wrapped in white bandage cloth, and was covered in blood stains.

"It's broken, majorly," Pecarry said gently as Dromedary nodded in agreement.

"Your going to have to spend a few days here, do you mind telling me who your parents are and where you live so I can get a message to them? Also if you go to school, which school do you go to so I can message them as well," Dromedary said.

"My parents are Drought... And Aloe, but Aloe is... Gone. I live in the den close to the main Sandwing army battle training field, it's far away from here, sorry. I go to Oasis elementary in the main kingdom, which is also far away from here."

"I see..." Dromedary said in an annoyed voice.

Strider had no idea what he should be worried about right now, the fact he was telling strangers where he lives? The fact that father is probably searching the entire sand kingdom for me? The fact that Sizzle may be going slowly insane? Or the fact that he felt like someone was stalking him?

I guess I should just be careful, that's all.

"Alright, just rest, we'll see you in the morning," Pecarry said.

Then, unexpectedly, Pecarry and Dromedary, blew out the torches and just walked out of the hut. They were just leaving a THREE YEAR OLD dragonet ALONE?

Calm down. They probably have lives of their own to get to, and messages to get out.

He glanced at the window on the far side of him, it was almost completely dark now. It's not that he was afraid of being alone in the dark, he was afraid of NOT being alone in the dark.

Then, only minutes later, it was pitch black, he couldn't even see the moon from the view of the windows. He couldn't even tell if he was asleep or awake.

...

He felt the strangest feeling, like a dragon was breathing over him, and he felt pressure on the silent wood of his bed. He nearly screamed, but kept his snout shut.

No dragon is here, no dragon is here, no dragon is here.

No monster is here.

Nobody is here.

...

Then, light, like a little flicker on a pitch black candle, and then more than a flicker, it was larger, it was fire.

The hut is on fire.
