So now, I'm on a carriage with Aaron and the royal guard. To be honest, I'm quite uncomfortable. It's been 30 minutes, and none of us talked.
"Dude, you sure this is safe?" Aaron whispered to me
"I hope so," I said
"So you have a plan?"
"Duh, I'm not that careless"
"Ehem, we've arrived," the royal guard said
"Thank you for the ride," Aaron said
The Royal Palace was huge, it feels like a dream. I only saw a palace from a comic book or illustration. But now that I've seen it with my own eyes, it's bigger than I've expected. Most of the furniture is made of gold. It's fascinating.
"I'm sure this is the first time you're here," Aaron whispered to me
"Duh, and there's nothing like this in my past," I said
In my past life, actually, there was a palace or castle. But it's quite rare because most countries are ruled by a president.
"His majesty is waiting for you inside," one of the royal guards said to us
Both of us then entered that room. I'm surprised, the emperor wasn't like that I imagined. I thought, emperors, are usually big and fat. Oh, I remembered, the novel said that the crown prince was born when his majesty was still 19 years old. So if you count it, his majesty is still 39 years old.
"He's far from I imagined to be," Aaron said
"I agree with you," I said
"May Achelous and the spirit gods be with your majesty" both of us greet his majesty
"It's nice to meet both of you, especially you Camelia," his majesty said
The emperor had the same black shiny hair, but he had different eyes. His majesty's eyes are blue, like Maverick's. Their color was quite similar, as blue as the ocean. Whenever I saw that kind of eye, I feel relaxed for no reason.
"I heard that you've saved the village," his majesty said
"It's nothing, your majesty, Sir Aaron here also help me," I said
"Ah, you're that Elementalist aren't you?" his majesty asked Aaron
Suddenly the atmosphere feel chilly
I think I know why. his majesty seemed to dislike Aaron because he's an Elementalist. The royal family was a spirit possessor and an Elementalist is a spirit summoner. The royal family used the spirits for their own greed, but an Elementalist used spirits to defend themselves. An Elementalist also protects the spirits from evil beings, that's why Elementalists and the royal family are like enemies.
"Yes your majesty"
"Camelia, so what do you want as a reward?" his majesty asks me
I don't know, I've had everything I wanted. Status, money, and even skills, I've had it all. Well, there is one thing that I wanted to do.
"Your majesty, let me go on a travel for a while," I said
This is the only thing that I wanted right now. If his majesty agrees, my plan will go well.
"Travel? where?" his majesty asked
"I can't give you the exact location, cause I'm not certain, but I promise I'll come back," I said
"Sure, if that's what you wanted but in one condition"
"What is it?"
"You'll come back as the crown princess"
Oh no, I've made a mistake. He's asking me to be a crown princess, I must refuse him. But it's his majesty. Wait, I didn't say when will I go back right? what if I don't go back?
"Rest assured your majesty, I'll come back," I said
"Okay, let's have some tea for now," his majesty said
After a while, I and Aaron went back to the Crimson family's manor. I think the Duke might have heard my request to the emperor. I bet the Duke and his family would be very happy to hear that I'm leaving.
"Camelia, I heard you're leaving," Calisto said while standing in front of the door
"Yeah, I need space for now," I said
"You're so dead," he said
"Why? Oh, did he mad because I used a sword?"
"Duh, what else? who's this guy"
Calisto seemed to be curious about Aaron.
"He's Aaron, my assistant," I answered him
"You've made a ruckus, now you're bringing a weird guy home? what the hell happened with your mind these days?" Calisto said shaking his head
"He's not a weird guy, he's an Elementalist," I said
"Oh, I've never seen an Elementalist before, I bet he and his majesty didn't get along well"
Suddenly, the Duke come towards us
"Camelia, you're going with me," the Duke said
