chapter 12 : asher's death

It was rainy that day,  I was walking down the alley. And my dad called me

"ASHER YOU BRAT! WHERE DID YOU GO?" he said

"Shut up old man, I had enough of you all," I said with tears in my eyes

I ended the call. The only thing that I think of myself as being a "pathetic person". I can't fight against them, I'm still powerless.

My father was a successful businessman and my mother was a famous architect. Both of them are always busy, so they don't have any time for me. My father always abused me because of my grades. He cared about my grades more than my mental health. In my school, everyone was friendly to me. But that's a lie, everyone wanted to befriend me just because of my status and wealth.

"Asheerrr" someone called me

he was tall, wearing a black suit and a black mask. I can't see his face clearly. But he's clearly holding a big knife

"W-who are you?" I asked

"No need to ask, you don't want to live, don't you?" he asked

"No, I want to live"

"Why? no one loves you, even your parents"

"No, there are still my friends"

"Friends? you don't have any"

"No, I have one"

Despite being popular and faked by my friends, there was only 1 friend who was always for me. Her name is Alice, she was like a light in my life. I don't want to die yet, what will she feel if I'm dead?

"She's dead, you know, SHE'S DEAD"

"What a bullshit"

But suddenly, that black-suited man stabbed me with his knife. It hurts, I feel like my stomach is burning up. Is that just a normal knife? no way, but I don't want to die yet.

"I hope you will meet with your friend in your next life," he said

"N-no, KURGHHHH"

I feel dizzy and collapsed.

Present

"And that's how I died, tragic isn't it?" Maverick said to Camelia

"That's crazy, how did he know I died? Is he related to the gods?" I asked 

"I don't know, but probably," he said

"I feel sorry for you, but you're lucky I'm here"

"Yeah, you're right. You are here with me, it's like a miracle"

Maverick burst into tears, I also cried.

"You're the best friend I've ever had, I'm lucky I befriend you," I said and hugged him

"Guys, are you done yet?" Damian asked with an annoyed voice

"You're ruining the atmosphere," I said

"Alice, what did you say to his majesty this afternoon?" Maverick asked

"I told him that I'm traveling and won't go back to the empire for a while," I answered

"And he just said yes? I bet you're going to be the crown princess after you go back here"

"How did you know?"

"That's written in the novel, duh"

I forgot, the novel did write that part. After returning from her vacation and academy, Camelia was engaged to Apollo, the crown prince. But not long after, Angelica came and took her position.
