SEPTEMBER 1st, 1971

The excitement exudes from all the first years. Especially, James and Gwen. They were neighbors, practically grew up with each other. Their parents were also good friends.

"I'm freaking out Jamie." Gwen admitted.

"Relax Gwen, we'll be fine. As long as we're not in Slytherin." James said sitting across her.

She nodded hesitantly.

"Hello, May I join this compartment?" A boy with black hair asked.

"Of course." James said in confidence. He has always been easy going and friendly.

The black haired boy entered the compartment and sat next to James. "I'm Sirius Black."

Gwen smiled even though she was slightly uncomfortable knowing that his family hates blood traitors like her and James.

"I'm James Potter." Completely oblivious on who Sirius Black was.

"I'm Gwyneth Selwyn, Gwen for short."

Another knock showing a red-headed girl with a greasy haired boy outside their compartment.

"Can we join the three of you?" The red-head asked.

Gwen nodded. "Of course, the more the merrier." Lily smiled and grabbed her friend to sit next to Gwen.

"I'm Lily Evans and this is Severus Snape." The girl named Lily introduced herself and her friend.

"I'm Gwen, these two boys are James and Sirius." Gwen looked at James, who was staring quite obviously at Lily.

Lily is a very beautiful, with a long red hair and emerald green eyes. What's not to love about this girl?

"So, where do you guys want to be sorted to?" James started.

"My whole family are in Slytherin." Sirius answered sheepishly.

"And I thought you were okay." James said.

"Hush you." Gwen narrowed her eyes to James, "It's okay to be in Slytherin, Sirius. To be fair it sounds pretty badass." Gwen told Sirius, which enlightened him a bit.

"Maybe I'll break the tradition. Where are you heading, if you've got the choice?" Sirius beamed.

"Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart!' Like my dad." James proudly answered.

Snape made a small, disparaging noise. James turned on him.

"Got a problem with that?"

"No," said Snape, "If you'd rather be brawny than brainy"

"Where're you hoping to go, seeing as you're neither?" Sirius defended James.

Gwen and Lily rolled her eyes.
