THE MARAUDERS ARE NOW OFFICIAL MEMBERS OF THE ORDER. From what Gwen has heard is that there have been many recruits lately. Currently, she is in one of her lessons with Professor Dumbledore. She can't seem to concentrate. Many things are bothering her especially keeping secrets. The urge of spewing the truth to James seems so tempting.
"You seem distracted." The Professor pointed out.
"Can I not tell them? About me?"
"Not now. There is no such thing as too cautious."
"Just because Death said so. Doesn't mean they will. It might not even be them." Gwen said frustratedly.
"Precautions are important Ms.Selwyn."
"Fine." She sighed. Precautions can never go wrong. Secrets are burdensome and she couldn't wait until she can tell her friends about everything. "Then what's the point of telling them about the Order?"
"Not everyone in the Order knows about you, Gwen. About your ancestry. Just your parents and me. It's safer that way."
"Right." She sighed heavily this time.
"Since you seemed very preoccupied, I shall let you get some rest. You're doing amazing as I expected. I will see you next week."
"Alright Sir."
"Happy Weekend."
"Happy Weekend to you too." Gwen said and left. At least she doesn't have to keep making up lies on why she kept meeting Dumbledore.
Gwen decided to visit her friends at the quidditch pitch. They're doing try outs for the Gryffindor team — she doesn't usually involve herself or watch any of the games that doesn't consist of her friends nor her house. She walked towards the pitch through the big halls of Hogwarts and met a redheaded Gryffindor together with her Slytherin companion.
"Hey Gwen!"
"Oh Hi Lily!" Gwen greeted back enthusiastically, looked at the boy next to her, "Snape."
Gwen Selwyn and Severus Snape hasn't been on great nor bad terms with each other. She basically helped him out and stopped the Marauders from bothering him. Lily and Severus seems pretty close. The Ravenclaw can only guess that they're already dating or Lily is completely oblivious from Snape's infatuation towards her.
"Selwyn." Snape nodded curtly.
"Where are you guys going?" Gwen asked the two.
"We are about to go to the library. Care to join us?" Lily suggested. However, Snape gave her a bit of a stinky eye — not that she wanted to join in the first place.
"Sorry Lils, I'm going to the pitch."
"I guess you're going to see Potter." Lily smiled. She has seen the growth of their relationship for the past year. It's nice. They suited each other. James doesn't vent his feelings to her anymore, but they stayed as good friends.
"Yeah."
"Well, we better get going then." Snape interrupted. He wasn't fond of Gwen anyways — she was still part of Potter's group of friends.
"Right. See you guys later." Gwen smiled and left.
The girl arrived at the pitch and sat on the bleachers. The students trying out were taking a test from James. They were all in their uniforms. Gwen sat next to Remus, who was busy reading his book, but with his werewolf senses, he immediately smiled and looked up.
"Hey." Remus said.
"Hi. Is the try out doing well?"
"Prongs seemed to be pleased by the players this year. Especially with him as captain."
"That's great news."
"Is there something bothering you?" The boy abruptly asked.
"Sorry?"
"It just seems like you're on edge lately. Even more after the situation with Dumbledore."
"I can't really tell you. But, I'm seriously fine. When the time comes. I'll be sure to tell all of you. I promise."
"Alright. Don't stress yourself out." Remus sighed. Seems like there's nothing that will force her to spill everything out. He wanted to hear her, so that she can feel better after getting everything out.
Suddenly, James Potter flew towards the seats with a big smile on his face. "Came here to see me?"
"I came because I was bored. Don't flatter yourself too much." She stood up and approached the boy. "How is it?"
"The others are doing well. I already know who I'll be putting on the team."
"That's great." She smiled softly. James looks so passionate about quidditch and she loves it. Even though, she knows only little things about the game. "You should go, Captain."
"Fine." He huffed, "But, I want one thing."
"What?" James tapped on his cheeks asking for a kiss. There were people making throwing up sounds from the pitch, which got a scowl from James — definitely shut them up real quick.
"A child. Literally." Gwen rolled her eyes. She grabbed his face and kissed his lips instead — surprising him. "Now go." The players especially Sirius made whistling noises. The girl send them her middle finger.
"Okay." James smiled. He waved and flew back down to finish the try outs.
"When's the wedding?" Remus chuckled receiving a light hit on his arm.
After a short while, everyone went to take a shower. Gwen waited for James and Sirius together with Remus at the entrance of the pitch.
"I can't believe this is our last year." Remus sighed.
"I know. It's really weird." Gwen chuckled.
"I don't know what I'll be doing after this." He was insecure with his condition. How was he going to get a job. Nobody would want a werewolf.
"Remus John Lupin. Listen to me, you'll be fine. You're literally a genius. Just because you have a slight furry problem, won't stop you from doing great things. I promise."
"I hope so. Thank you Winnie." He's so thankful for Gwen. She had invented a potion for his condition. It didn't stop his transformation but it helped with the pain and that's good enough for him.
"Are you guys ready?" A voice from the back they recognized as James.
"Yeah. Let's go. Where's Peter?" Sirius asked.
"He didn't come. I don't know where he is though." Remus answered.
"Let's just go now. I'm hungry." Gwen said. James immediately flung his arms around her shoulder.
"Let's go to the kitchen." He said.
"Great." Sirius smiled brightly. Nothing is better than eating tasty foods after a long hour of quidditch. The four friends spent time at the kitchen with the help of the elves. These kinds of moments reminded Gwen on why she must do her best to configured about the Horcrux mess. She doesn't want any of her friends to get hurt or worst. Killed.
