GWEN JUST COULDN'T GET UP FROM BED. Her period cramps were the worst. She just wants to cry from the pain. Mental breakdown sounds really good right now.

"Gwen, are you sure you don't want me to get anything from Madam Pomfrey?" Pandora worriedly asked.

"No need Andy. Just go to class, keep me updated with the school work." The girl snuggled to her blanket. She just wanted to scream. It felt like dying. She is bleeding out — technically. This is the worst cramps she's ever felt.

"I'll inform the professors and I'll come back when I have a free period Gwennie." Pandora said.

"Okay. Thank you." Gwen smiled painfully. After all her roommates left for their classes, her eyes started to form tears. Tears of pain. Why do girls have periods? It hurts like a bitch, Gwen thought. Her part was throbbing in agony.

Gwen decided to sleep it out. Maybe she would feel better when she wakes up.

James Potter was confused when a blonde Ravenclaw entered the class without her brunette best friend. So, he approached her.

"Hey Andy, where's-" before he finished Pandora answered.

"She's not feeling well. Probably not going to join class the whole day."

"Is she sick? Is she in the hospital wing? Is she okay? Wait that's a stupid question uhm, Is it bad?"

"She's having horrible cramps and staying in the dorm. I think it's pretty bad, but nothing Gwen can't handle."

"Thanks." James grabbed his stuff and knew what to do.

"Where-" Remus was about to ask but James had already ran off.

James went back to his dorm to grab his invisibility cloak, the map and one of Remus' many sleeping draught — just in case. He opened the map to see Gwen in the dorm. Very still. She must be in horrible pain. So, James went to the kitchen to get some of Gwen's favorite things before going to the Ravenclaw common room.

He waited for a Ravenclaw — he saw on the map, to get out of the common room so that he can sneak in. Probably because he has no time for riddles. A Ravenclaw boy got out and James managed to enter. It wasn't his first time in the Ravenclaw tower but, it's beautiful scenery and comfortable common room has always made him a tiny bit jealous as Gryffindor's common room is more on the comfy side. James cast a spell to trick the stairs into thinking he wasn't a boy to let him get to the girl's dormitory. He entered Gwen's dorm to find the girl underneath her blanket sobbing. His hearts hurts and immediately approached her.

"Love..." he called out.

Gwen stopped and looked out from under her blankets, her face puffy and red, "Jamie? Why are you here?"

"Andy said you were sick. So I came to accompany you."

"I'm not sick. Just cramps."

"Just? It's not just cramps Gwen. You're in pain. Here, I brought tea and some pie." He was hoping that Gwen would smile but she cried even more. "Why are you crying again? Do you hate tea now?" He sat on her bed, next to her.

Suddenly, James was attacked by a warm embrace, "You're the best." She said, "What did I do to deserve you?" She sobbed.

The boy rubbed comforting circles on her back and he thought to himself, You're wrong. What did I do to deserve you?

"You're right. Cramps are valid. I mean why do women have to give birth? Why not men? We have cramps AND we have to give birth? Does that even sound fair? You men only have to pull out. That's it." Gwen rambled as she cried uncontrollably.

James stroked her hair, silently chuckling at her hormonal rants — not that it was a lie. "Drink the tea, love."

She sipped the tea and felt a bit better from it's warm temperature. For the past few hours she has been crying and couldn't sleep from discomfort.

"Why are you not in class?"

"I told you because you were sick."

"Does that even make sense?"

"It does. My best friend is in terrible pain. I should be with her. With you." He looked at her like she was the only thing in this big wide world. James wiped her tears, that were still streaming probably from the pain.

Gwen smiled, "You've always been a considerate boy since we were kids." Remembering that time James bought a lot of sweets for his new friends.

The now teenage boy furrowed his brows, "Why are you smiling? What are you thinking?"

"You. I was thinking of you." She admitted. Surprising him. "You're still the same boy that I know all these years. You always listen to me like that time I told you to stop botherin Snape. He is a slimy git, to be honest. But you listened. You always listen to me. I love that about you." He stared at her doe eyed.

"Gwen, I-" He wanted to confess. Spill every single thing he felt for her. But, looking at the condition, maybe it wouldn't be best to tell her now.

"Hmm?"

"How about you sleep?"

"I already tried. But it's just uncomfortable."

"I brought sleeping draught." He told her.

"Fine." She smiled. Suddenly, she scooted aside.

"Why are you moving?"

"So, you're saying, I'm going to sleep alone?" Gwen rolled her eyes.

"You want- you want me to sleep here?" James questioned.

"I sleep better with you around. Give me the sleeping draught." She said. James pulled out the potion and gave it to her. He laid next to her and tugged himself under the blanket. Unexpectedly, Gwen laid her head and snuggled to the crook of his neck. He felt her hot breath on his neck. When he looked over, she was already asleep. Knowing that she's in deep sleep, he caressed her soft cheeks.

"I love you." He sighed. He never said it out loud but it's liberating to say it to Gwen, even when she can't hear him right now. "So much. I love you that it makes me go crazy. Your vanilla scent lingering even when you're not around. Your funny laugh ringing inside my head. Your hand, that loves to play with my untamable hair. Your bright smile. Your forehead kisses before quidditch. Your everything. I might as well be sent to St.Mungo's, because I can't stop thinking about you. I'm going crazy, because I don't know how you feel about me. I just...I love you." He sighed.

He look at her soft lips that were just there. Looking so inviting. He kissed her cheeks. But, then he kissed the edge of her lips. She was unconscious, but her lips turned upward. He went back to his original position where Gwen was snuggled to the crook of his neck. And with that, the two teenagers slept soundly.

-

Pandora Sailer wanted to bring some food for her ill friend. But, maybe James had already beat her to that. So, she got some pain relieving potion from the matron and entered the Ravenclaw dormitory. What she found made her smile brightly. James and Gwen snuggled to each other. James was embracing her in their sleep — as if he was protecting her. Pandora decided to get a muggle camera, that she bought last year. She used it a lot — secretly. She took a couple of photos of the sleeping teenagers and smiled.
