Bradley and I got home later that night and I breathed in a sigh of relief. Sometimes the gallas got to crowded. "I'm gonna go get in the shower." I tell him. He smiles. "Hurry back, we can watch a movie." I grin at him thankful that he made all the chaos inside of me seem like nothing.
I walked up the stairs and into my room. I flicked on the light even though it wasn't really necessary. The lights from the city provided me a dim light. But even through that dim light I didn't see the figure sitting on the bed. I flick on my light and jump in surprise.
"Camille???" I whispered. She offers a smile. Her curly hair was now straight and in a sleek high pony. She wore tight black jeans and a silky top. It looked like something I would wear when I met him. "How did you even?" I couldn't finish my sentence. She rolls her brown eyes and her eyelashes flutter.
"I can pick a lock you know." I smile a bit. I hadn't seen Camille sense she tried to visit me two years ago. I screamed, covered my ears and went under my covers. "What are you doing here?"
"Well that's a better response than I got about two years back."
I cough a bit and quickly apologized. "Sorry, I wasn't in the best of shape." She shakes her head and dismisses my apology. "No need I know how it feels."
"What are you here for is he okay?" The question came out rushed and jumbled. "He's fine as far as I know. I haven't seen him since England."
"When was that?" I choke out. She paused for a minute. "About a year ago." I bite my lip. "I'm here because I want to know if you spoke to him or anything." I shake my head. "I left him a message a year ago." Camille runs her hand through her sleek pony. "Yeah, I heard."
I study her. "What do you mean you heard did he talk about me?"
"Not exactly. Lillian came to me and I told her to take it to you. I figured you would be better off with her." She was right. "I haven't heard anything. Do you think....." I don't let myself utter the words. "No not before he got back to you. He would never allow it."
"Do you think he's coming back?" Camille twirls a simple diamond around her finger before answering. "I'm not sure. But the last time I seen him, he seemed pretty determined." Hope blossoms in my chest and I grin like a fool. "I gotta get going. Jack is waiting." I smile at the mention of her lovers name.
"It was good seeing you. Also next time just use the front door." She smiles. "Well noted."
"How exactly are you gonna get out of here?" Camille points towards my bedroom door. "Bradley fell asleep on the couch. We have been in here for about a half hour." I stare at the clock amazed. She was right. Giving me a small hug she hurried out.
