Chapter 30

TRIGGER WARNING: BLOOD, ATTEMPTED SUICIDE & ABUSE 

"Hey...Isn't that you friend?"Chanwook asked. "What's his name again? Jeonu? Joowon?"

"Chanwook, call Jiwon hurry!" I exclaimed before crossing the road. I ran up to Joowon and stopped him from walking. 

"Joowon, it's Junghee" I said as I looked at his face. It was covered in bruises and dried up blood from his nose and a cut on his eyebrow. He looked so tired and I can hear him groaning in between his breaths. 

"Joowon! What happened?!" I asked as I let him wrap his arm around my shoulders. Why aren't there people around here?

As I tried to keep him up, I noticed blood dripping from somewhere. Wait...Is Joowon...Bleeding???

Jiwon and Chanwook rushed towards us as I kept telling them Joowon was bleeding from somewhere. Chanwook helped Joowon get in his car before we headed to the hospital.

"You're gonna be fine Joowon...Please hold on a little longer. Please..." Jiwon said. 

After a few minutes, we finally arrived the hospital and called for some nurses to take Joowon to the ER. The three of us stood outside the room as Jiwon made a phone call with our friends and his parents.

I sighed as I leaned my back against the steel bench. What could've happened? Was he robbed? Did he get into a fight or something? No, Joowon isn't like that. What happened Joowon? You haven't showed up in days and then we find you walking out, covered in bruises and blood? Who did this to you?

After a while, our friends came in. "What happened?" Amy asked 

"We were waiting at a convenience store then Chanwook saw him" I replied "He was covered in sweat, bruises, and...Blood. He couldn't walk properly at all, it's like his legs were beaten up too"

"Wha- Who did it?!" Taehyung asked "Did you see anyone coming after him??"

"No we didn't. We just saw him" I replied as I looked at Jiwon who was sitting beside Chanwook, with his head buried in his palms.As we waited patiently for the doctor, I decided to give everyone a can of coffee from the vending machine.

"Drink up Jiwon" I said as I handed him a can of coffee. "He's gonna be alright"

"I knew I should've brought him home with me" He sighed "You see...Joowon's my step brother. His mom and my dad married each other but immediately got divorced after his mom cheated on my dad with some rich guy from the restaurant she works in. I guess his mom felt really really guilty of what she did, so she decided to cut ties with my family and forbid us to see each other. Now Joowon's current step father's really abusive, but his mom just wouldn't listen to what Joowon has to say. I wanted to ask my father for help, but he told me it's not our business anymore. I knew that Joowon needed help and yet I couldn't help him even the slightest bit. He hated it when I brought up anything that's been happening inside their household. I just wanted to be there for him when he needed someone to hold on to..." Jiwon started to tear up "I failed...I failed..."

"Shhh. No you didn't" I hushed him as I wrapped my arms around him. Soon after, Amy joined in and started to rub his back. 

"Yah, you didn't fail" I said " There's just some things that are beyond our control ya know? You did a really good job on being there for Joowon. A really good job...And I'm sure he's thankful for that too"

"Thanks for being there for him too" Jiwon said "I'm glad he met such good friends" 

Soon after, the doctor came out. 

"Are you with the patient?" She asks "Well, it appears that he was beaten up by something like a bat or a huge object that cause bruises on his body. There were quite a lot and his abdomen is pretty beaten up too. His nose was a bit broken but it isn't severe, there were cuts on his upper left eyebrow which might be the effect of fists"

"There's one more thing..." She said "There was a cut on his wrist...It's a bit deep. Luckily, he didn't lose a lot of blood. Judging from the wound...It was a suicide attempt using a broken glass since there were fragments of glass in some parts of his wound" She said "He's fine now, he just needs rest. Pain killers should be enough to deal with physical pain. He's in a deep sleep as of the moment but he'll be waking up after a few hours or maybe tomorrow...So yeah that's about it. Don't worry too much since that boy is really gonna be okay"

We sighed in relief as she told us that he's gonna be okay. I'm sure he is. Joowon's strong...

"Thank you so much" Jiwon said. 

"You can visit him now. Room 304 which is just around the corner from the ER" She smiled. "If you need anything you can call the nurses and I have to visit him a few times so I can examine him"

We all nodded before she smiled and walked away. Thank goodness Joowon's alright.

So all this time I thought Jiwon and Joowon were dating. Damn you and your scandalous mind Junghee. I REALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE DATING OHMYGOD. 

I feel like punching myself in the guys right now. 

How could I suspect something like that? But I mean...If they WERE though, they'd look cute.

BUT NO. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT KIM JUNGHEE. I'M SERIOUSLY GOING TO SLAP THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. I'M REALLY EMBARRASSED RIGHT NOW. 

DAMN YOU JUNGHEE. 

Ugh. sigh...

Atleast it's been cleared now. They're step brothers, not lovers. Step brothers, not lovers. As I leaned back against the steel bench, I noticed a familiar voice coming from around the corner.

No way...

Is this the hospital where Jin is????

No way!

oh...It IS HIM! and he's with a...Female doctor...
