Chapter 59

As I was collecting my things and placing them back in my bag, I suddenly got a call from Jungkook. 

"I picked up Hyejin from school. Are you still at school?"

Yep. I'm in graduate school, currently taking my masters degree. 

"Classes are done, but I have to work for Mr. Yoon after classes" I replied. "Why'd you pick her up so suddenly?"

"There's this new ice cream shop that just opened beside my cafe. I figured she'd love it there"

"Well, ice cream is her favorite thing in the world" 

"Mommy! Kookie oppa said we're going to an ice cream shop! Can I get a lot?"

I chuckled "You can, ask your kookie oppa to buy you lots of ice cream. But be sure to finish them okay? Don't eat too much or you'll get a tummy ache"

"alright mommy! I'll see you soon. I love you!" 

"I love you too. Have fun Hyejin-ah"  

"I'll take her home by five...Or six" Jungkook said, not sure of what he was saying. "I'd like to have dinner with her too" 

"five thirty" I replied 

"How about five forty?" 

"Five forty five?"

"Six?" Jungkook said "C'mon. Gimme a chance, this is the only day I'm gonna be spending with her after being busy from work" 

"Alright alright. Six. Get her home by six"

"Thanks! You're the best. I'll buy ice cream for you and Seokjin hyung too!"

"Thanks, Kook. Anyways, I gotta go now. Take care!" 

As the call ended, another notification popped up from Mr. Yoon in the work group chat. "No work today! Get some rest guys. You deserve it after the stressful week we had" 

I sighed in relief as I get to go home early today. I also got three assignments to pass tonight, so thanks Mr. Yoon, I can get it over with quickly.

As I was doing the laundry, the front door suddenly opened and I heard Kirby running towards the living room. 

"Junghee, Hyejin-ah, dad's home" 

I walked towards him and took his bag to place it by the couch before giving him a hug. 

"Where's Hyejin?" He said after kissing my forehead 

"She's with Kook. They're getting ice cream" I replied "How was work today? Were there a lot of patients?" 

"Yup, the usual" He said while scratching Kirby's tummy. "How was school today?"

"Just the usual too. Nothing much happened today. I got assignments though, fortunately Mr. Yoon told us to take the day off" 

"So? Did you finish them already?"

"I did, that's why I'm doing the laundry" I said before walking back to the laundry area. Without noticing, Jin wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggled against my neck. 

"So it's just us huh? It's been a while since we were alone like this" 

I giggled as his lips touched my neck, tickling my skin. "Yeah. So, what do you wanna do?" 

He tilted his head to the side and pouted "Are you hungry? Should I prepare dinner first? Or...?"

I laughed as I felt his fingers tickle my sides. "Stop it, Seokjin. I gotta finish the laundry first, then hang them"
