The rest of my detention week with Pansy went fine, she never talked to me once which was a really good thing. Afterward, I would wander up to the astronomy tower in hopes that I would catch Draco up there again but I never did. He did start hanging out with our group again and without Pansy. It was basically just the four of us together again like when we were younger; although he was still dating her, I rarely ever saw them together. Occasionally they would be in the halls together or partners in class, but other than that all was well.
Today I was on my way to the library when I saw Blaise lying on his back with his eyes closed outside the Gryffindor common room. "Blaise." I kept kicking him lightly with my foot until he opened his eyes and stared up at me. "What are you doing out here?"
"I'm waiting for Wood to come out. I saw him go in there and when I knocked he ignored it." He was standing up and brushing off his robes when he started knocking again.
"Oliver Wood? Like the Gryffindor quidditch captain Oliver Wood?" It makes more sense now why he was so defensive whenever I mentioned that I thought he fancied Adrian Pucey.
He raised his eyebrows at me with annoyance. "Yes. How many Oliver Woods do you know?"
"Just the one."
"Then why are you asking?" he barked.
"What's got your knickers in a twist?"
"Sorry, I'm just on edge because Oliver won't talk to me. I mean out of both of us you would think the one who wanted to keep our relationship a secret would be me, but no it's him."
"You're shagging Oliver Wood? You're shagging a Gryffindor" I whispered the last part because people were walking by in the corridor.
"Yeah, and what about it? I really like him, we are not just shagging Vangie. But he says he's not ready for everyone to know yet."
"Just give it time, he's probably nervous or something." He hummed in response.
After standing outside Blaise decided to give up and walk with me to the library. "Ugh, this is not fair. Why is everyone getting into relationships but me?"
"Because the person you want is already in a relationship with someone."
"It was completely unnecessary for you to call me out like that Blaise"
He chuckled. "Probably not for long though, Me and Theo keep telling him he's making a mistake with her."
"You what? Please tell me you didn't tell Draco I fancied him?"
Blaise shook his head. "No, I wouldn't. I did tell Theo though, so whoops. But don't worry he won't tell Draco. I'll see you later." He waved at me as we went separate ways, me to the library and him to probably cry in a broom closet.
Hermione and I agreed to meet in the library to work on our arithmancy project together. We weren't necessarily friends but I never mind working with her because she's brilliant, I always wonder how she didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw.
I walked into the library and looked all around but no sign of her. Instead, I sat myself at a table near the back that was visible by the entrance so when Hermione arrives she can spot me.
I waited for a long time glancing at my watch every few minutes to make sure I had the time right when suddenly Hermione burst through the doors and rushed right over to me.
"I am so sorry Evangeline, I'm so late. Harry wanted me to stay after today to help a third year and I forgot that I agreed to meet you here."
"Stay after what?"
