an: crabbe and goyle exist but there not really prominent in the story because they aren't really friends with draco
The whole month of September consisted of nothing interesting as usual. It started a new routine for me like every school year did. I get up every morning mad that I have to share a dorm room with Pansy Parkinson and her best friend Daphne Greengrass while Blaise, Theo, and Draco have a dorm room together. Then I get dressed and ready for the day and head down to the common room where Blaise and Theo are seated on the couch waiting for me to walk to breakfast. Every other year Draco would be right there with them, however this year he's too preoccupied with Pansy to remember me.
After breakfast we head to classes, potions of course being the highlight of the morning. It's really the only class that the Slytherins can be themselves because Snape never takes house points. This year potions is not as great as years previous because Draco decided to split up our group. The partners have always been me and Draco and Blaise and Theo. But instead, he insisted on being partners with Pansy so I got stuck with Micheal Corner; it's not the worst thing though because he is in Ravenclaw. Not that I really need his help any way I've always been good at potions. He's just weird because while I'm working all he does is stare at me with a stupid smile on his face.
Draco makes up for it by studying with us in the common room and going to the library with us whenever we ask, though it always ended up being silent studying. I can tell he knows that he's pushing me, Blaise, and Theo away by the way he is so quick to do anything we ask; unless he's already doing something with Pansy of course.
This morning ended up being very different; I trudged down the common room steps to find an empty room. It wasn't a big deal, I can walk to breakfast myself but I was disappointed that the boys weren't waiting for me.
When I entered the hall I rushed over the Blaise and Theo and smacked them both on the back of the head before sitting down. "What the hell, why didn't you guys wait for me?"
"Why are you abusive?" asked Theo rubbing the back of his head.
"It's out of love. Again, why didn't you wait?" I answered smiling at him.
"Pansy said you were already here so when we got here we just assumed you ate and went to the library or something" Blaise cut it and shrugged as he said it.
"Of course it was her. Her and Daphne left this morning without making a sound so I slept late" Every morning my roommates make sure to be inconsiderate and make as much noise as possible to wake me up. That's the only reason I haven't needed an alarm since first year. "I don't understand why she hates me so much. I mean we're not friends but she can at least try if she's gonna date Draco."
"She doesn't hate you and we're not dating."
"Well good morning to you too Draco, nice of you to join the conversation," said Theo as he stuffed bacon in his mouth.
"I'm not joining the conversation, I was just making a point," I can never figure out why Draco always looked so annoyed when he talked to us. I mean if he didn't want to be bothered with us he could just say so.
"Whatever mate. You haven't talked to us much at all since the beginning of school and you pick October 12th to be the day you have a full conversation with us," Theo pointed his fork at Draco's face flinging his eggs at him.
"As I said, we're not really having a conversation," said Draco as he wiped Theo's eggs from his cheek.
"Right I forgot, because that is so hard for you to do," I turned to face him as I said it, to make sure he could see the annoyed look on my face.
"What's that supposed to mean?" His brows furrowed creating little lines between them.
"Oh like you don't know. As Blaise said, you have been way too preoccupied with Pansy pug face Parkinson to hang out with your best friends"
"Jealous are we?" Draco said, raising his eyebrows and giving me the famous Malfoy smirk.
My cheeks flushed a bright red when he said this. Thankfully Theo noticed my embarrassment and cut in quickly, "Anyway! Draco are you gonna be around in the dorm tonight because I scored the good shit"
"Yeah, yeah I'll be there." When he said this I got excited because I knew there was no way he would bring Pansy with him tonight. He knows better than to involve her with our traditions.
With that breakfast was over and me, Blaise, and Theo rushed to class.
"Why were you so mad talking to Draco this morning, I mean you're not the only one he's been basically ignoring?" asked Blaise as we turned down the corridor heading for the stairs leaving Theo who went the opposite way.
"I wasn't mad. I just was annoyed that he thought it was a good idea to butt in when we were talking about Pansy."
"Are you jealous of her?" We both stopped to lean against opposite sides of the stairs as they moved.
I looked at him with my best annoyed face even though deep down I was flushed with embarrassment, "I don't fancy Draco."
"I never said you fancied him, I just asked if you were jealous," He looked at me quizzically, as we entered charms class and took our seats. "But you do fancy him I can tell."
"Blaise" I shot him a warning look which only made the grin on his face widen.
"You forgot that I've known you forever and can read every emotion on your face." The grin on his face changed into apathy. "I'm not mad at you for liking him. I knew it was bound to happen with one of us, although my money was on Theo."
"I always thought it was gonna be you. Draco has always been more of an ass than you and Theo," To this, he just shrugged.
"Vangie, I'm flattered but you're not my type."
"I know, I know. Adrian Pucey is more your type yeah?" I looked over at him with a smirk. "You should talk to him more, you never know." He hummed in response as Professor Flitwick cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

"I have so much homework but whatever it doesn't matter anymore I'm here now, Hello bo- oh" I was surprised when I entered the boy's dorm to see Pansy sitting on the floor clinging to Draco's arm. "Who invited her?"
"He did," she said pointing at Draco. "Tell her Drakie."
"Yeah, I mean not really but sure," He said dryly, which made Pansy pout.
"Alright who wants it first?" asks Theo while he holds up and shakes the bag of wizarding weed he got from the Weasley twins.
After 2 hours of laughing at Theo's jokes, listening to Blaise talking about the things he would do with Adrian Pucey, and Draco constantly telling Pansy they can't shag in front of us, I spoke for the first time since I got here.
"Ok, bye-bye Pansy I have to talk to my boys. Go now," I said as I drug her across the floor, left her sitting outside, locked the door, and sat back down in our circle.
"Oi, you just kicked my girlfriend out," Draco said while he laid on his back throwing one of his pillows up in the air and catching it.
"Oh well. I have something to say, my mom's meeting us tomorrow morning at 10 to get breakfast at Hogsmeade." I said
"We knew that already you told us yesterday," said Blaise half-asleep laying like a starfish on his bed.
"Yeah yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that one, you've been telling us since Monday." Theo pointed out while eating some cookies we got from the kitchen a little while ago.
"I just wanted to make sure you knew," I said sternly as I climbed onto Draco's bed after throwing on one of his pullovers. "I'm sleeping here, goodnight." I didn't realize at the time sleeping in his clothes and on his bed would be a big mistake.
