authors note: random inkling but I feel like Draco, if he fancied you, is the type of guy to overly flirt with you and say really nice things to you in front of your boyfriend to make him mad but then if you do date him he would never say those things again 🤷‍♀️

also, I am so sorry about the really short chapter I promise the next two chapters will make up for it

It's almost Spring and our O.W.L's are coming up. I have barely studied for them, not that I really need to. I'm naturally smart, but not smart enough. We had a potion lab first period this Monday morning so I have been focusing extra hard because Snape had said the potion we were making today could possibly be part of our exam. I can't focus enough though, because Blaise and Theo are goofing off across the table and Draco keeps putting things in the potion without telling me what he's doing because 'I don't need to write it down' according to him.

Draco, Blaise, Theo, and I left the room after Professor Snape dismissed us and headed to our second class. Draco and I had divination so we decided to skip knowing that both of us hated learning about it; Blaise and Theo went to muggle studies. Draco and I decided to head out to the courtyard so we could sit on the grass and feel the approach of spring in the air. It's become our new favorite spot to read and throw big sticks at the first years.

We were walking around across the grass when I noticed Draco stopped and was staring at me. I walked back to where he was standing, him watching my neck with a puzzled look on his face. He grabbed my neck gently with both hands like he was looking for something. He then pulled the sleeve of my robe up on both my right and left arm with determination.

"What are you doing?" I asked, trying to yank myself away from him.

He grabbed both my wrists, shushed me, and started shaking me like he was listening for something he was clearly not hearing. The whole time I just stared at him confused. He raised his eyebrows at me, licked his lips, shook his head out of frustration, and marched over to take his spot under the tree.

I followed and sat down still confused. I decided to ask, "What was that about?"

"I was looking for something," he dismissed.

I raised my eyebrow at him. "Yeah I figured that part out myself, but what?"

He huffed and flopped back so he was laying down before answering, "You're not wearing the bracelet I got you, or the necklace. I figured at first it was cause you were mad at me but you haven't put them back on since we started talking again."

"Oh, well that was a bit dramatic. You could've just asked." I moved so I was laying on my back next to him.

He smirked. "It was more fun that way."

I rolled my eyes at him as we fell into one of our usual conversations. I never realized how easy it was to talk to him. We have a lot in common so we like to talk about the same things and we've known each other since we were really young, we basically grew up together.

I picked my head up when I heard footsteps on the grass; Blaise was rushing over to where we were sitting. When he reached us he followed suit and laid down on his back next to me. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?" I asked him.

He laughed and replied, "I'm using the toilet right now. I ran here because I realized I forgot to tell you something important at breakfast, about-" He gave me a look that screamed, Oliver Wood.

I rolled over so I was on my side facing him with my elbow on the grass and the palm of my hand holding up my head.

"Does Draco know about you guys?" I whispered.
