"How was your day?" He broke the silence. You snorted, pressing your head against his as if it could go any further. "It was alright. I talked to my mom for most of it." You answered. "How's she?" Yagi moved to make conversation away from past events. "She's alright, school's kicking her ass though." You played along, no questions asked. "What's she in for?" Now that you thought about it, that subject never came up between the two of you.
"Law and psychology." You told him.
"Damn." Just a bit, you could feel Toshi rear his head back. "Is that legal?"
"Loopholes, big guy." You cheesed. "Her quirk doesn't show the past, only probable and plausible futures. She'd know if someone would confess to theft, but the psychology aspect would tell her how to best steer them to do so."
"That sounds like a lot of mental gymnastics."
"Yeah, it'll pay off though. She's already pretty perceptive."
"I'm still looking for a second Nighteye-"
"Toshi." You rolled your eyes. "Worth a shot." He breathed. "I..." You started. "I asked, more than once actually, about the serial asshole." Yagi stiffened. "They're odd." Your brows furrowed. "It's like...their figure's obscured and the surroundings are always engulfed in this 'warped black'."
"So they've got a quirk." He deduced, you nodded. "Or there's more than one person behind-"
"Don't get involved."
"I'm not. I-"
"Please." His hold on you tightened. "I...alright."
'Still watching?' plastered over a grayed out television. The answer was no, obviously, but the background noise was nice while it lasted. A shiver ran down Yagi's spine that shook you both. "Calmed down and now you're cold huh?" You were asking, but you could already feel the answer. Little goosebumps prickled the edges of your hands. "Something like that." He breathed.
"I've got something for you then." You pulled your head from him. "What is it?" Finally opening his eyes, he saw you pulling away. "You'll see." You rubbed at his arm, asking for freedom. "Let me up." Reluctantly, he did so. You pushed up and off the couch. Yagi reclined, that same arm thrown over his face as he exhaled deeply. "I'll be back." You rolled your eyes and made your way to the room for the blanket you left folded in plain sight. Damn this's heavy. You scooped the thing up and left the room, headed back to the hero.
"Here ya go, big guy." It unfolded in a toss, spreading out over his form completely. "What-?" You could see him jolt, fingertips appearing above his head to bring the blanket down. You plopped back on the couch at his side. "Like it?"
"Y-Yes. Where did you?" His eyes widened, looking over the endless knots. You waved your wrapped hand at him as he looked at you. "You made this?" Yagi leaned forward, grip tightening, you nodded. "For me?" His hand pressed against his chest.
"Yeah?" You raised a brow for a second. "You always get a hoodie when you're cold, and you don't have any blankets big enough so..." you shrugged. "I went a little overboard. I was using my bed for reference, but I added two feet. It's ten by twelve, so you'll always be covered."
"Tha-"
"Aht!" You cut him off, shaking your head. "Nope! Thank you, Yoshi." You pulled your knees into your chest. "It's the least I could do." Broke girl vibes. "You didn't have to." He sighed, trying to find an alternative. "I wanted to." You mocked, your head rocking with every syllable. "How long did this take you?" His attention turned back to the blanket.
"Little over a week...is it thick enough?"
"Yes." Yagi nodded.
You found yourself nodding off, your head propped up on the arm of the couch while a film of neither of your choosing played. After a drawn out back and forth, you were covered on your end of the seat. "It's twelve feet, take some." You weren't given much choice. Every time you shoved a corner off, you ended up covered again. You moved chairs? This asshole got up and followed you.
The next time you got up you heard him shift behind you. "I'm getting food! Chill!" You said through a laugh. "Oh."
"Yeah." You turned for the kitchen. "Did you cook? Is that the smell?" Toshi called behind you. "Yes and yes." You said retrieving a bowl. "Do you want some?"
"What is it?"
"Pot roast." You removed the lid to the slow cooker, steam filling the air. Having forgotten to turn the pot off, the food was still piping. "Is it good?" He questioned. Fuck yeah. Poking around, you saw the roast falling apart.
"You could be the judge of that." You answered, filling your bowl. Yagi hadn't replied. "Soooo?" You peeked around the corner to catch his eye. "Sure." He nodded. "Cool." You went back to fix him a portion considerably larger than yours.
There sitting at the kotatsu, the blanket was draped over you both. Guess whose idea. You ate quietly, until-
"It's good." Yagi nodded, going for another spoonful, "But this movie is shit."
"I wholeheartedly agree." You grabbed the remote.
