FREIN'S POV
"You're not being honest about your answer to me earlier," Ruscan asked.
We are at his office. He os instructing me of Ms. Yvonne's schedules. So as her daily routine. It's all weird.
Ruscan showed me the list of her daily activities and that never sound good for an eighteen years old girl. She's a senior high school student yet act like a college one.
I heaved a sigh and faced him.
"It was half honesty. I sort of wanting to see Devian's daughter," I said. "But there's still one thing that made me early."
He looked at me and then gave me intense stare.
"You're giving me goosebumps. Stop with the staring," I said as I stopped him from his doing.
"You never showed so early like the said time. I know there is something serious about it. Tell me," he asked and sat on the swivel chair in the back of his table facing me.
I sit erectly and started to remember the real reason behind my early appearance.
"You didn't told me this earlier. I was about to drop by the hotel just now," I annoyingly said to Devian.
"Yeah, I know. This is too much for me to ask. But I really want you to see her now," he said.
"Why? What's the reason?"
"Someone just sent me threats. It implifies that they'll be targeting my daughter and it makes me worry about what will be her situation. Though I know she'll be able to handle things but she's only eighteen and she's a girl. They might hurt her and I will not be there for her. I didn't told her the real reason why I am at this damn cruise ship," Devian madly said on the other line. "I need your help, Frein."
"Who sent you those?" I asked pertaining to the threats he told me.
"It never leave any clue. But I guess one of the opposing company that always gave me warning about not giving them the money they are borrowing. That's so low of them. Psh!"
"But will you be okay there?"
"Yeah, I will. This cruise may took me a month before I could go home. I have to settle things here right before I could go home," he answered.
I gots silent for a second and gave him the answer.
"I'll be with her."
I heard him gasp and then excitedly talked.
"That's a relief! Thank you, Frein," Devian said, happily.
"Don't mention it. I owe you a lot about everything I have right now. This will not be too much for you to ask. Don't worry," I said while smiling.
"I owe you with this one. Please protect her while I'm gone," he said.
"I will." I hanged the call and immediately took a bus to get to the academy where Yvonne is studying.
' I guess she'll not gonna remember me.'
"So, Devian asked you to be early. That serves as an answer to me," Ruscan said.
"Tss! That attitude girl don't remember me though. She's so attitude," I irritatedly said.
"Lower your voice, she might hear you."
"Really? How can she hear me when this office of yours is sound proof? That's impossible."
"You don't know. She have that strong sense and strong hearing. Even the slightest sound you create, she'll hear it and she will know the owner of that sound," Ruscan said while smirking.
He looks so creepy on that smirk.
"Is that her talent?" I asked.
"Maybe. If that's the right word. But I think it's in their genes."
I looked at him, confused.
I gave the room an observation of how well it is made. Shelves full of books and folders. With a thick beige curtains blocking the sunlight.
"Is this really your office?" I asked not convinced.
"Uhm. Why?"
"This doesn't look like yours. Looks like Devian's."
"Devian's office is hidden. Only him could open it. No one had ever entered his office."
Someone knocked the door and opened it. There I saw the pretty face of Yvonne.
"Diba kay Daddy 'to?" she asked and showed a pen. I didn't understand what she said.
"Where did you get that?" Ruscan asked her and went close to her.
"In his office," she answered.
We both stopped for a moment after we remembered that no one could enter and see Devian's office yet her daughter did.
"How did you locate Devian's office?"
"Nakita ko siya one time no'ng kumuha ako ng racket para sa tennis session ko. And then I tried to open it 90 times already. Now, I got to open it," she said. "I'm impressive, right?"
"You're really annoying. No one have ever entered your Dad's office," Ruscan said in a mad tone.
"Well, I just did. He'll never know naman if you're not telling him. I just took his pen. He got thousands of this on his drawer. Losing one will not make him lose a million pesos," she said and left the office.
'She really is something. Tsh!'
"That brat really annoys me with the way she talks," he said while stressed over an argument with Yvonne.
"What will she do with a pen?" I asked.
"She is writing stories. That's her passion. That might sound weird, but she really write stories and even got to win a writing contest back when she's at her high school days."
"That's not the kind of her."
"Yeah, she changed."
"She really did."
'She's not the type of silent one. She is too loud when she talks and too annoying when she shouts my name while calling me from my room every time they visit us.'
We got out of the office for a dinner and I went out to get my stuffs on the hotel I checked in.
It didn't took me long before I could get back at the mansion. I went to my room just next to Yvonne and unpack my bags to arrange them in the closet.
'A month would be good enough to stay with by side.. again.'
