EXO or BTS?

This was inspired by KAIdilim's Drabbles and etc. entry (External Link); a response; a reaction; a comment; a revelation.:)

Isang taon, isang buwan, at siyam na araw na/pa lang akong EXOstan/tic--EXO-L pala, pero sobrang mahal ko na/pa rin ang EXO. I am a Growl Baby, newbie ako nung MID Era. It hasn't been that long pero nakatatak na sa puso ko ang EXO. At napatunayan kong I am indeed an EXO-L when I saw myself holding onto the gheis in spite the issues and heartbreaks during Overdose Era.

Ilang ulit ko na rin 'tong sinabi at uulit-ulitin ko 'to dahil ito ang totoo: OT12 pa rin ang namamayani sa puso ko.

Umalis sina Kris at LuHan, and it was heartbreaking. Issues popped here and there but EXO remained strong, thus the need for the fandom to remain strong for them too.

May mga issues pa na aalis din ang natitira pang Chinese members, and I know I am not ready for that yet, or if I'd ever be ready once that happens. Parang 'di na kaya ng feels ko na mabawasan pa silang sampu. However, I know I'd learn to accept things if ever the worse comes to worst.

I am truthfully and genuinely happy with LuHan and Kris' achievements, respectively, kahit na hiwalay na sila sa grupo na naging parte ng araw-araw nila simula nung trainees pa lang sila. I know in my heart that they're brothers forever. They just had to compromise for everybody's good. Bumitaw kasi sina Kris at LuHan sa SMEnt, hindi sa EXO. 

I'm a newbie sa Bangtan fandom. And I must admit, I really truly am amazed by the boys' talents and capabilities. Wala pang isang buwan na nagsa-spazz ako sa kanila but I already am captivated. Oo, aminado ako na I'm still quite guarded pagdating sa feels ko for BTS dahil nga nagbitaw ako noon ng salita na, 'Wala na akong ibang gugustuhin at mamahalin na Kpop group bukod sa EXO'. But when I said that I'd try to know them and appreciate their craft, I meant it. And that's why I'm here, a newbie in the ARMY, and by far, I have no regrets I tried opening myself to the idea of liking BTS and actually doing it.

Magaling ang BTS, no question about that. They're quirky and really very funny. They perform really well, and they are entertainers in their own style. Sobrang galing nilang sumayaw at lahat magaling kumanta. Unexpected ang mga skills nila. They're dae to the bak. All around sarsa. But then, aaminin ko rin na hindi ko maiwasang mag-compare and contrast.

EXO is amazing. The best in everything. Hands down. All praises. Ganiyan ako sa kanila. Sila kasi 'yung idol group na nagdala talaga sa'kin sa buhay-fangirl. But apart from that, they're the only idol group na nakikitaan ko talaga ng 'It factor'. You know what I mean? 'Yung level talaga, may standards. At lalong tumitindi ang feels ko para sa kanila dahil na rin sa fandom. Sobrang tibay kasi, sobrang laki, sobrang powerful.

Oh yes, EXO members lipsync. Pumipiyok sila, nagkakamali sa steps, baliw-baliwan, parang may mga sariling mundo--oh well, they're from another planet naman talaga--but that makes them EXO. Ewan ko ba, napaka-superb nila para sa'kin. I don't think I'd ever appreciate KPop the way I do now if I had not known and loved EXO as much. They have flaws--countless, I shall say--pero alam niyo 'yun, kapag mahal mo talaga ang isang tao, you'll accept everything about them without hesitations. And I guess pa, 'yung mga mistakes, flaws, and all their awkwardness and abnormalities sometimes are reasons why I'm more drawn to them. Oo, kulang na sila pero pareho pa rin 'yung feels. EXO pa rin naman kasi sila, nabawasan nga lang ng dalawa.

Pwedeng tama ang iba na kaya lang naman ako kumakapit pa dahil nandyan pa si Kyungie na bias ko at ang pinakamamahal niyang si Kai, at ang BaekYeol. Sinabi ko pa minsan na 'Kahit EXO-K na lang basta nandyan ang KaiSoo at BaekYeol, susuporta pa rin ako. Wala akong paki sa EXO-M'. Pabiro lang but I did say that. Pero that doesn't mean I'd love them less when my bias leaves. Unfair para sa mga Kris and LuHan-biased, I know, but it's EXO you loved not the individual naman, 'di ba? Mas minahal mo lang sila because of your bias. Magng fair din tayo sa ibang members na hindi natin paborito. Ako nga, kahit umalis na sina Kris at LuHan, sinusuportahan ko pa rin sila. And yes, I miss them a lot.

I miss seeing Kris on stage, being his own awkward yet thick-faced self. And LuHan, being the gorgeous little man that he is, flaunting his abs and glistening eyes every time. I miss them both. But what they did was for their good, and it was the bravest thing they could have done.

As to BTS, may mga hinahanap pa akong qualities sa kanila na based sa EXO standards. Like 'yung kilig when BaekYeol's doing their own thing, or when KaiSoo's in their own world filled with hearts and lovely smiles and warm hugs. Baguhan pa lang ako, e, but I know a lifetime commitment to something or someone when I feel it.

Sabi ko sa kapatid ko when we were watching BTS' girl group dance covers/random dance, 'Hindi kailangan ng EXO na gumawa nito para mapansin sila'. Ang mean, alam ko, pero sinabi ko 'yun, why deny it? Tapos pinuna ko rin 'yung pagkakapareho nila ng concept. Although hindi naman talaga maiiwasang magkaroon ng pagkakatulad dahil normal na 'yun sa industriya, pero bilang fan, hindi rin maiiwasang mapansin ko 'yun and the millions of others na for sure ay nauna nang nakapansin ng mga pagkakapareho nila. I'm not saying one group copied the other. What I mean is, there's a lot of similarities between them.

I like BTS a lot. Halata naman siguro dahil may Bangtan Feels and Bangtan Shots na rin ako, pero wala talagang tatalo sa feels ko for EXO. Parang parati nang una sa puso ko ang EXO. Lahat ng susunod na groups na ia-idolize ko, nakasunod lang talaga sa kanila.

But why compare or start a debate as to who's better when they like each other's groups naman, 'di ba? Tanggap ni Baek na anak niya si TaeHyung; supportive ang BTS sa sunbaes nila. Why say *** is  better than ***, right? What matters is they're all doing a great job in giving us kilig feels and in making our every day more amazing and fun.

EXO and BTS are both jjang! Let's leave it at that.:)
