Mary held Steve's hand as they walked back on the army base. All of the men on the base came running to greet their friends and fellow soldiers. Mary let go of Steve's hand and stepped away to let him greet the others.
Colonel Phillips and Peggy came out of a tent. Steve saluted.
"Some of these me need medical attention." He said. "I'd like to surrender myself for disciplinary action."
"That won't be necessary." Colonel Phillips looked away.
"Yes, sir." Steve nodded.
"Hey, let's hear it for Captain America!" Bucky shouted.

Bucky brought Mary to a joyful pub downtown to celebrate. He really enjoyed the night at the expo, and he was hoping to recreate it tonight, if you're catching my drift.
Mary didn't drink. She watched Bucky down two glasses before Steve came in from the other room.
"See? I told you." Bucky said, taking another sip of his drink. "They're all idiots."
"How about you?" Steve asked. "You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?"
"Hell, no." Bucky said. "That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I'm following him."
Steve got himself a drink. "But you're keeping the outfit, right?" Bucky asked.
"You know what?" Steve turned to look at a poster of himself. "It's kind of growing on me."
"Steve, it looks stupid." Mary said.
Steve and Bucky almost broke their necks trying to look out the door. Peggy walked in and stepped up to Steve.
"Captain." She smiled.
Mary watched Bucky with a cocked eyebrow. The conversation between Peggy and Steve was the least of her interest when she saw Bucky check her out.
Okay, Mary thought. Steve was right.
"You don't like music?" Bucky asked.
"I do, actually." Peggy kept her gaze on Steve, not giving Bucky the time of day. "I might even, when this is all over, go dancing."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Bucky smirked.
"The right partner." Peggy smiled at Steve. "0800, Captain."
Peggy walked away briskly. "Yes ma'am, I'll be there." Steve smiled.
"I'm invisible." Bucky looked at Steve.
Mary slapped Bucky on the shoulder. "Never ask me on a date again." She stormed off into the alleyway.
She pulled a cigarette out of her front pocket, lighting it and taking a puff. She layed her head against the wall of the building behind her.
"зцілити, вбити, слідувати, без пощади."
Mary dropped her cigarette and stood straight. "Hail Hydra." She balled her fists.
"You're going in the cryo next year, Elliot." The Hydra soldier said. "And due to your little stunt, you won't come out until we need you."

Johann ordered Mary to go on the train with Dr. Zola. After many attacks on Hydra, he decided he needed Mary. She stayed in her own train car with her gun in her hand.
Johann let Mary choose her outfit. She went with what she wore in boot camp; a simple white t-shirt, camo cargo pants, and combat boots. It was her favorite and she wanted to look good while she was killing her friends.
