As the pair walked through the twisted mound of plants and stone, they heard a low rumbling growl and a boy yelling, in what seemed to be, fear. The two looked at each other and started walking faster towards the sound soon breaking out into a sprint. The shouting began getting louder and louder until it seemed he was just around the corner. The girls turned down the rock corridor and fell backward on the ground as they were tackled by something, presumably the boy.

"What the hell!?" Teddi shouted, shoving him off her, "Who the hell are you?" She helped Gwen up and glared at the newcomer. He slowly looked up at the two with large, scared eyes. "Well!?" She yelled, getting impatient at the surplus of questions and shortage of answers. "Woah! Chill! My name is Dale, Dale Jenkins! I was kidnapped and woke up here!" Dale shouted as fast as he could, trying to explain himself before the two did anything to him.

"We need to go. Now." He said in a suddenly low and serious voice. "What why?" Gwen was the one to ask now. "I was just being chased by a... I - I um, I don't even know what to call it." Dale began to shake just at the thought of the thing he had encountered. "I-it looked like a shadow of a man, but it had mass and weight. It had bright red glowing eyes. It was like nothing I've ever seen before!" As he was describing what he saw, Dale was moving his hands to emphasize how he felt.

The air around them became cold and crisp. A putrid smell of death and rot surrounded them. The maze's stone walls were filled with a low clicking sound, menacingly tapping away. The girls looked at Dale for an explanation but he was more focused on preparing for a fight. He clutched onto his dagger like his life depended on it because in this situation, it did. He looked Teddi in the eye and they both nodded, knowing a fight was about to go down, Teddi looked at Gwen then took out her dagger and put her finger to her mouth. "Shhh." She whispered and pointed to Gwen's bag, signifying she should get her weapon out too. They both nodded and the trio started creeping towards where the noise was emanating from.

They turned around a corner and were hit by a wall of ice-cold air piercing their skin. The only light they had was from the stars and moon. They continued on, the clicking sound getting louder and louder as they went. Teddi was leading the group and turned right and froze, eyes widening. The other two noticed and caught up to her to see what made her hesitate. When they rounded the corner, their breaths hitched in their throats. The whole corridor was illuminated in a deep red light. And turning a corner a couple of meters away from them, making its way towards the group, was a horror they could have never imagined. Except for Dale, he had already seen this creature. He knew this would be a fight to the death.
