The Ivy Walls

Chapter 10

The group, now consisting of seven, were making their way through the maze, chatting like they had been friends for years. Owen and Fin were talking, more Fin boasting about how great he is and Owen just nodding every now and then, Jesse and Dale were talking about their hobbies and Teddi, Gwen and Mickey were talking about how annoying Fin is and Mickey was telling them about how he came to find the other boys.

"I came across Owen first, he was sitting on the floor curled up into a ball with a knife in his hands. He was shaking the poor thing, crying too. Must've gone through something horrible since he was covered in blood and not all of it was his own." Mickey explained to the girls, "I cleaned him up and we walked around aimlessly for a couple days. After he was with someone I guess he felt safer so he opened up and he's the sweetest person in the world. He'd never want to fight a monster when we came across one and was always willing to share his food, water and other supplies with me." Teddi and Gwen looked over at Owen who was staring at Fin like he was the best thing to ever happen in his life. "I think we know someone like that." They both said then looked over at Dale who was laughing at something with Jesse.

"We walked for a couple of weeks then ran into two monsters fighting. Fin won and we introduced ourselves." Mickey grinned at his joke. The girls tried to suppress their laughs as Fin glared at the group, "I HEARD THAT!" He shouted at them, puffing his cheeks and pouting as he continued talking to Owen. "Anyways, we've been been walking in this damn maze for around a month and a half now." He stated. The girls hadn't thought about it but they were in the maze for around the same time. 

"Hey why don't we try that thing where we keep our right hand to the right wall and keep walking without disconnecting our hand from the wall. Isn't that like, some sort of hack to get out of a maze if you're lost? I only just remembered it." Dale asked Jesse who seemed dumbfounded that he hadn't thought of that sooner. "That's a good point, instead of just wandering aimlessly at least we'd have some sort of system." He agreed, "Let's go tell the others." They nodded and waited for the rest of the group to catch up.

"Hey guys, Dale just mentioned a pretty good strategy for trying tonged out of here. You keep your right hand to the right wall and keep walking without disconnecting your hand from the wall and eventually you will find the exit." Jesse explained to the others. "Oh yeah? And how do we even know that there's even an exit to this place? And why did Cripple only just remember this strategy for getting out of a maze when he's been stuck in one for more more then a month? That doesn't seem a little bit odd to you?" Fin interrogated, sticking to the nickname he gave to Dale earlier. The playful energy was all but forgotten by now.

Everyone glared at Fin except Owen who just looked shocked. "Why would you think that? Dale and everyone else in his group haven't done anything to us, if they are suspicious of anything, don't you think they would have done something to us by now?" Owen replied, he almost didn't want to believe that Fin was just an asshole all the time and was trying to help him realise his mistake before he did anything drastic. 

"Well, I, for one, think it's worth a shot. Good thinking Dale!" Mickey smiled at Dale and Jesse. Teddi and Gwen nodded, Teddi was glaring daggers at Fin already hating him. If looks could kill. Fin just huffed his chest and started walking, even though he didn't like it, he followed their idea and kept his hand on the right wall. "C'mon, we're losing daylight here. We won't be able to get much more walking done if we just stand around all day." Fin shouted over his shoulder as he walked away, clearly in a bad mood. Owen ran to catch up to him like a lost puppy and the others laughed at Fin's childish actions. They followed behind, chatting like nothing had happened, recreating the playful energy again. 

Yo waddup, this was a good chapter. You got to see what the new characters personalities are like. Don't you think Mickey is just like the mother figure? I do. Owen is just adorable and Fin is a complete asshole lmao. I have so many plans for this story. It's gonna be so fun to write. You guys are just gonna have to wait for me to write the whole thing. :)))) Anyways,
