The three held their weapons firm and at the ready, only slightly shaking. The abomination of a creature spotted them and stood in its fighting position. It was even worse than what Dale had described. It's slimy black tentacles, protruding from its head writhed in a twisted, angry dance. It held an aura of intellect and reasoning, seeming almost civilised in the way it held itself. The white suit it was wearing was gaining stains of black from the dark liquid oozing out of the monster's mass of muscly tentacles. The part that stood out the most was its eyes. Glowing red pools of blood and flames. They seemed to hold all of Hell. The walls around it illuminated with the threatening red light.
CRASH!! The wall next to Dale's head exploded into small rocks and dust as one of the monsters tentacles slammed into it. They all stood in shock with the same thought running through their heads as they watched the snake-like limb retreat to its owner. "That was faster than the speed of light!" They knew they had little chance of getting out of this. Teddi was the first to charge. With a loud battle cry, she leapt towards the horror. Dale wasn't far behind along with Gwen.
Teddi chopped at the tentacles that came flying her way while shouting orders at Dale and Gwen. "YOU TWO GET CLOSE TO ITS MAIN BODY AND GET GOOD HITS IN!" She barked at them, authority overflowing her tone. The two nodded at her and charged in, trusting that she'd watch their backs. Teddi slashed at everything she saw moving towards her newly formed team of allies, while they sprinted towards the main body of the monster.
Gwen took the lead the closer they got to the beast. She slashed at the tentacles reaching towards her and didn't lose pace with Dale on her heels. Once they reached the main body of the demon-like thing, Dale stabbed at where he expected the heart to be. Nothing happened though. The blade just stopped on its chest like it was made of steel. He paused and panic took over his body. He wasn't focusing when he was slammed into the wall to his left and knocked out. Gwen barely took notice, she was in her own world as she slashed at the monsters stomach, barely even scratching it. She quickly changed tack and tried to hit the next best option, its eyes. She cut and stabbed anything near its eyes. This seemed to be a successful tactic as the creature stepped back with a shrill screech erupting from its whole body. She smirked to herself, feeling powerful and striked again at the eyes. Over and over and over again until she had the demons blood splattered across her cheeks and a manic smile plastered on her face.
The monster let out one last screech as it pulled back all of its tentacles that were fighting Teddi and ran away, lost in the vast confusion of the maze. Teddi was covered in cuts and newly formed bruises, had a split lip, blood dripping down her forehead and a black eye. She looked over at Gwen who was now wearing a slightly relieved smile, then looked to Dale who was only just sitting up from his previous concussion. He had a large gash in the corner of his forehead and a black eye. Teddi ran over to help Dale up onto his feet. "Dale! Are you ok? I think you have a concussion." She observed as she inspected his wound. "I think I might have some bandages in my backpack. Hang on." She ruffled through her bag and pulled out a rolled up bandage. "Here!" Gwen walked over to the pair and began to help patch up Dale and hold him up as he couldn't really stand on his own.
They girls took turns helping Dale walk as they continued on their way, walking the opposite way the monster went so that they didn't run into it again. A couple of days went by like that. It was well into the day and was around mid-afternoon, the sun was glaring at them as they stumbled along when Gwen suggested that they eat "Why don't we have a snack? I know I'm starving." Gwen noticed everyones noisy stomachs. "Yeah I could eat, I don't have much food left though." Teddi agreed, saddening at her lack of food. "It's fine, we can share." Gwen said with a smile. "Yeah I'm pretty hungry I guess." Dale commented. Teddi set him down and sat down beside him with Gwen sitting next to her. The girls ate some peanuts while Dale ate an apple and shared some grapes with the others.
They all finished off their food and realised they had none left. "What do we do now? We don't have any food left, we can't afford to waste any more energy if we don't have any food." Gwen stated, a tone of panic in her voice. Thunk! The sound of a log dropping on the ground resounded inside the wall next to them them. Then one of the large stones in the wall fell onto the ground and rolled a couple of inches. Three new bags of food were sitting in a metal cylinder-shaped container in what seemed to be a vertical pipe. Teddi jumped up and grabbed the food, acting like she hadn't eaten in weeks. They watched as the cylindrical pipe shot upwards and a new rock replaced the one that had fallen. "Well that's new." Dale stated almost in disinterest. "You can say that again." Teddi laughed. Dale looked at her and paused. "Wait, I just realised, I don't even know your names!" He exclaimed in shock at the fact he had been walking around a maze for around a week with these two girls he already trusted his life with and he didn't even know their names! The girls looked at each other and burst out into spells of laughter. "My name is Teddi, Teddi Clark," She said, wiping a tear from her eye. "I'm Gwen Stewart." Gwen introduced with a toothy grin. "And welcome to the most fucked up place of your entire life." She stated with a smile.
Done! Fourth chapter finished! I forgot if I said I was gonna do another chapter today or not but whatever, you're welcome. :) This was my longest chapter yet. I think I'm gonna stick to writing chapters this long from now on, but it really depends on how motivated I feel. :).
