misunderstanding

Avni's pov

He has changed a lot. There is something about him that I fail to comprehend. His behaviour and actions are not the same as before. Am I thinking too much? Or is it true? Well I'm happy that I got the chance to work here but as his secretary is too much.

Mr.patel just finished explaining me the work I have to do today he also said that it's very big responsibility being a PA and I am too young to handle this. Hmm he is underestimating me a lot. Now I will show him what I am capable of. Now that I am officially his PA I will work hard and prove everyone that I can do as well.

Abhimaan called me few minutes ago asking me about the job. He was so overconfident that he had thought they would reject me and when I told him that I got selected for the job that too as pa his voice suddenly stopped coming. I know he must be in shock I was laughing after disconnecting the call. His face would have been worth watching but my bad.

Neil I mean neil sir called me in his cabin and I again started feeling nervous. It would take some time to get comfortable around him for me. The day passed by quickly and came evening. I didn't realise how time flew so early today. I quickly went there and knocked the door. His voice came stating come in. I went inside and saw him engrossed in file.

I waited for him to get free. My eyes couldn't leave the sight and keenly observed him. His forehead creased and he was rubbing his stubble whenever he has been puzzled by something. I was so engrossed in him that I forgot he had been sitting there and at the same time he lifted up his gaze making me feel thousands of butterflies in my tummy, the goosebumps I felt was unimaginable.

I averted my eyes quickly embarrassed by my own stupidity. How can I be so dumb. I was gawking at him shamelessly, What he must be thinking of me. God please help me to get over this embarrassment.

Avni's pov ends.

Avni was avoiding looking at him while he was confused, happy, amused. Confused because he almost forgot that he had called her inside so seeing her in his cabin he got confused. Happy because she was staring at him since don't know how long and amused because she was behaving like she has done a crime.

His lips curved in a charming smile and he couldn't stop himself from laughing seeing her face. Avni heard him laughing and got more embarrassed than before. Neil looked at her and stopped laughing seeing her getting uncomfortable.

Neil: sit

She was about to sit on the chair that was placed in front of him but neil interrupted her.

Neil: no not there sit here beside me I want to explain you something

Her eyes widened and breath got stuck. She nodded and took baby steps towards him. Neil adjusted a chair beside him and avni sat down still with a throbbing heart.

Neil took a file and started explaining her about its content. Avni has been giving full attention to it forgetting the initial hesitation. His gaze traveled to her face evoking the unknown feelings. Her hair had been fluttering with breeze giving a perfect view of her face.

He used to get imagination of her every day and night and now that she is with him he doesn't know how to react. In college their bond had been simply amazing. But some things changed everything between them. He himself don't know what. He tried every possible way to find the answer but only got failed.

Sensing a gaze upon her avni upped her lashes and got lost in his hazel brown captivated eyes. Some unfinished things are still there in between them that are pulling them towards each other. Their heart connection has been getting stronger with each passing moment.

Someone knocked on the door breaking their intense eyelock. Neil cleared his throat and said come in. Avni shifted little away and pinned her hair.

It was mr.patel.

Mr.patel: sir mrs.khanna had called me and was asking about you.

Hearing mrs.khanna avni forgot to breath. Her world collapsed once again. She didn't get to realise that neil is not alone now there is someone who is in his life, his special person, his wife. The old memories came rushing to her again that moment, that day when he had proposed her in front of whole college.

While Neil clenched his fist hearing her name. Mr.patel was referring his so called mother as mrs.khanna. Neil doesn't like to hear her name nor in his home nor in company but she would not let him in peace. She knew how to pissed off him by her mere presence or name.

Neil: tell her I will come whenever I want to she doesn't need to wait for me

He said gritting his teeth. Mr.patel understood the fact his boss is getting angry so he quietly went from there. Neil glanced at avni and felt her shaking a bit. He looked at her with concern and shifted closer.

Neil: are you okay?

Avni nodded looking down holding back her tears.

Neil: okay you can go now it's 7 already. Come on time from tomorrow and If you have any queries you can ask me or mr.patel

Avni nodded

Neil: words

Avni: yes sir

She quickly went from there but neil had seen her wiping her tears. This girl is still the same so difficult to understand he thought. Other side avni was numb that mrs.khanna was still ringing in her ear. This has had to happen. She forgot for the moment that this happiness is short lived. She just got the place in his company not in his life.
