Neil's pov

The realisation that dawned upon me yesterday was like a cold droplets on a chilly weather. My mind was unable to comprehend anything. All the time when I used to think about her or get dreams of her I would shrugged it off thinking it to be just due to overthinking of mine. But it is something else that I never knew I would be feeling for her. Yesterday's event was still being unfaded from my mind. I kept getting thoughts about her with someone else and that emotion is worse to feel. She is like a tender stroke to my aggressive self. I want her to heal my muddled heart but she is the one that has caused this.

Why she was so close and cozy with him!? Why avni why? You have to answer me. I thought looking at myself in the mirror. I badly wanted her in my arms, close to my heart and never wanted to let her go but first thing first I have to act according to situation. What she feels for me? Is there someone in her life whom she loves? I have to seek answers of these questions first, then I will confess my feelings to her and that day avni I would be able to live with you forever.

I got ready in my business suit and left from there to my office. As soon as I stepped into my cabin her lips curved in a beautiful smile. Her cheeks had adorned a slight red hue making her fair complexion more irresistible and pretty. Trust me only I knew how I controlled myself from not reciprocating the smile. Her smile is such captivating that can attract and cure anyone.

I maintained my stern look and moved passed by her brushing my shoulder with her in the process and took my seat. She was gaping at me I could feel her gaze but I didn't react much. I handed her a file and told her to complete the work within an hour. She started telling the reason behind the leave she took previous day but I was in no mood to listen. Whole night I had thought about it enough. I would definitely ask her about it but not now. So I just said I don't care and she started moving from there getting angry. Uff I just wanted to pull her in my arms and cage her for eternity. I keep on looking at her while she was going out but she halted in middle and I quickly averted my eyes and looked down.

After some seconds I heard her heels sound getting faded and looked up sighing. I will not melt so easily my butterfly, you have to know that you are only mine.

Author's pov

Avni completed the work she had been given and went to Neil's cabin. He was indulged in some work so she waited for sometime for him to get free. He lifted his eyes feeling her presence and raised his brows.

Avni: I completed the work you have given me

She said and handed him the file. He took it and nodded and again got engrossed in his work giving her cold look again. She was getting pissed by his behaviour. She stomped her foot deliberately and went from there leaving the smiling Neil behind. This continued till evening. At last avni's part of work got over and she wrapped up her things.

She badly wanted to see neil before going but decided against it and stood up to leave but at the moment she got call. It was from Neil, he had called her to come to the cabin. Her happiness knew no bounds but she composed herself and went inside.

He was standing facing the large glass window gazing outside. His one arm was resting on the glass window while with other one he was holding the cigarette. Avni frowned looking at the scenario. She had never seen him smoking in college days then what happened to him suddenly? she thought. She took baby steps towards him and halted just few steps away from him.

He felt her presence and smiled inhaling the smoke but did not turn.

Avni: yes sir why did you call me?

She said in stern voice watching him behaving so odd since morning. Neil straightened his back and turned around having the same expression he had been giving her since morning. Cold. She could not even depict what was running in his mind.

Neil moved passed by her and smashed the cigarette in the platter and faced her finally shoving his hands inside the pocket.

Neil: where were you yesterday?

He said in his cold voice taking a step forward. Her brows furrowed and looked at him.

Avni: I I had to go for some urgent work that's why I took leave

Neil: I am not asking why you took leave. I am just asking WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY!

He said emphasising every word and moved towards her. With each step he took towards her, her steps started moving back by their own feeling short of words. Her breath hitched watching him approaching to her.

With a quick stride he stood in front of her and her back bumped against the glass window. She fisted the corner of her dress in nervousness.

Neil: bolo

Avni: I I had took permission from mr.patel to go and he agreed, granted me a leave

Neil: is he your boss?

Avni looked at him and shook her head. He took another step towards her and now there were only an inch distance between them.

Neil: you know I kept wondering what would have happened that you didn't show up. I thought you must be very busy in some work but when I saw you in the club I got confused seeing you there.

Avni widened her eyes hearing him. That means he was there in real I thought I was heluctating, she thought. She kept mum not knowing what to say.

He kept his hands on the window panel caging her in between his arms and leaned closer to her face bending his neck. She looked on shocked by his stunt. He looked directly into her eyes while the tip of their nose touched slightly.

Neil: you were there with someone. Who was he? Your boyfriend?

She started breathing heavily due to his presence affecting her badly and second she had no idea if she should tell neil about abhimaan or not. Neil found her lost in some deep thoughts. He badly wanted to do that. She was still unaware of his mind figuring and he gave in to his longing.

He learned closer to her cheek and buried his lips deep into her skin. Her whole body got numb and her eyes got shut instantly. Both were going through the same emotion. Neil's hand reached upto her waist and he pulled her closer sticking their bodies together. Her hand rested on his chest near his heart. She could feel his drastically racing heartbeat. Her condition was also same. They drifted into the oblivion forgetting everything.

A knock on the door brought them back in reality that's when avni got her senses back, he moved away but kept holding her. She was completely out of zone. She glanced at him and found him smiling as if nothing happened but she was in total mess. Her mind lost it completely. Neil loosened the grip and she quickly went from there feeling dizzy thinking about that moment. Her heart was pulsating loudly and her legs were shivering badly. She somehow made it to the lift and she got into it, taking a deep breath and calming her restive heart.
