Chapter Nine

So how are we liking the new cover? ;) I think it fits the story better.

Athena's POV

We've been here five hours and just got moved to a room. They gave me some pain killers to help the pain from my foot. Right now we're waiting on X-Rays.

I feel ashamed about revealing my secret to the guys. I've been quiet for a while now. Joe fell asleep in the rocking chair by the window. Oh yeah did I mention I got put in a maternity room? It almost makes me want a baby, but not yet.

"Hey you've been quiet, are you okay?" Steven asks sitting at the opposite end of my bed

"Just thinking" I sigh

"What about?" He asked again

"How you all probably think less of me after what I told you" I say looking away from Steven from my embarrassment

"Awe baby don't worry about it. We all have to do things we don't want to do to make money" Steven said "Let me tell you my first job experience"

I look up at him and he starts to laugh.

"My first job was up at Lake Sunapee. There was this old lady that came up every summer for three days August 16,17, & 18th. She goes up there to celebrate her anniversary only her husband died in WWI so when my Mom saw her knitting on the porch all alone, she would feel sad and make me go over there. So I'd go over there try to make her laugh. So one summer she said she'd pay me $4.00 to go up on the roof clean the eves and pick the moss off. I said yes of course. Come on $4.00 that would buy me Chocolate Ice Cream from the harbour for 2 weeks! So I go up there and half the roof is moss. Not to mention the eves were filled with leaves and a couple dead rats. It was awful and while this was happening it started to pour. That was the hardest $4.00 in my life" Steven laughed

"Thats pretty bad but a stripper is way worse. This all could have been avoided if I didn't find the apartment, if I didn't sign that stupid contract" I sigh

"One thing good came out of it" Steven smirked

"And what would that be?" I ask

"I" Steven said leaning closer "met" he said almost kissing me "you" he finished giving me a passionate kiss

I moved my hand up to his face and he moved his hand on top of my thigh which was covered by a blanket.

I pulled away "I guess that was a good thing" I giggled

"There must be some kind of loop hole to get you out of that club" Steven said

"I have an idea, its a little crazy but it might just work" I smirk

"What, are, you thinking?" Steven asked

"The one working for Charger is Ally Trainer. What if Ally Trainer was in a tragic accident" I smirk again

"But he'll put Athena's identity to Ally's name" Steven thought

"Then maybe Athena will need a new look" I raised an eye brow "maybe some ink, new hair colour"

"I like where this is going, and I'll go in and break the news to Charger" Steven said

I gave him a high five and a doctor walked through the door. Steven got off the bed and stood beside me.

"Hello Ms. Taylor. We just got the results of the X-Ray." the doctor said

"And what is it?" I ask

"You broke your ankle. Nothing to major but its an awkward break, so you be under going a minor surgery in a couple hours" The doctor said

"Alright thanks doc" I say as he leaves the room.

"And how did you break it again?" Steven laughed

"Running in heels" I smily/pout

Steven starts laughing. As horrible the situation is. Steven is finding some humour in it to make me smile.

"Shut up" I laugh
