Rowan Bailey

"Rowan!" I hear Oliver.

I flutter my eyelashes and see myself resting on top of him, one leg over him while my head is on his bare chest.

"You need to get up, we're already late."

"Shoot!" I shot up from his chest as he picks up my clothes for me to put on, I button my shirt and slide my skirt on with my shoes and socks.

I take my robe he threw at me and quickly head out to grab my stuff; before he could say goodbye.

I run past people to my room, I grab my books, wand, and brush my teeth before I head to my first period with an empty stomach.

Care of Magical Creatures, good thing it was taught by Hagrid. He's about twice as tall as an average person, sometimes it's scary, but he's super friendly with the Gryffindors. Sometimes, I wish to see what it's like to be friends with Hagrid and Gryffindors.

I get to Hagrid hut and end up seeing the whole class in The Forbidden Forest. "Ah- Miss. Bailey, you decided to join us." Hagrid welcomes.

I look around and feel the attention on me, just what I needed this morning.

"Sorry- I- I lost track of time."

I hear people gasp and whisper as they look at me, I feel nothing but eyes on me.

Hagrid kindly smiles, "Nonsense come, join us."

I smile and stand back with the rest of Slytherin.

"Rowan!" Lena whispers, grabbing my arm and pulling me to the back; Blaise and Draco join.

Blaise looks at me in shock, "Why are you wearing a Gryffindor robe?"

"What?" My eyes widen as I look down at my robe. It was definitely a Gryffindor one. Shoot. Oliver must have given me the wrong one. I kind of liked wearing it, it felt nice wearing something other than green.

"And your neck!" Lena gasps, "You did not!" she shockingly whispers.

I feel my neck as little spots hurt; love bites. Oliver, I'm going to kill you.

Blaise crosses his arms while nodding proudly, "Rowan, I'm surprised, and with a Gryffindor? What's gotten into you?"

Draco scoffs while shaking his head.

"No, I'm waiting." I cross my arms while rolling my eyes at them, "I'm boring. Remember?"

Lena holds my arm, "No way, you're so bad."

"Who was the lucky guy?" Blaise questions.

Draco squints his eyes at me, "Yeah, who was it?"

"Again, no one," they didn't believe me, "I didn't!"

"Whatever you say, princess." Blaise chuckles.

I push past him and Draco, going back to Hagrid's lesson.

I stand by Hermione, she catches my eyes, and we both give each other a small smile. We look away to watch a creature step towards us; everyone goes silent.

It was a Hippogriffs as Hagrid says, I've read about them on The Monster Book of Monsters. It was one book we needed for class, it tried to bite me once.

I study it's every movement.

His body, hind legs, and tail of a horse; but the front legs, wings, and head of what seemed to be a giant eagle. With a cruel, steel-colored beak and large, shiny orange eyes.
