The Hard Truth

I woke up and noticed that Hermione was not in the room , Also her bed was already made.
I looked at the time and saw that it was only 12PM , What means she probably went to lunch with the guys .

And if so , Why didn't she wake me up so I could come with them ?
It's all been really weird .
I got out of bed and started to get ready .
After I finished I took my stuff and started to make my way to the Great Hall .
Today is the last day before the holidays break , So classes are cancelled .
While I was on my way I saw those students running around and giving one another some letters , hugs and kisses .

I love seeing people care for each other , Letting each other know that even if they are gonna be separated physically, they can still contact each other in some ways .
That's what love and real friendship means .

"No matter what , I will still be there ."

That is the friendship and love I want to have in my life .
When I came to the Great Hall , I saw Hermione and the guys sitting there eating , So I joined them .


-"Hey , Good morning ! " I said with a little smile .

"Good morning for who ?" Said Harry staring at Someone behind me .

I turned around and saw Draco sitting with his friends at the Slytherin table ,
And i just have to mention he was looking really good in his black suit , His hair was done really good and he was all shining like a diamond .

"Why do you stare at him like that ?" Harry pulled me out of my thoughts .

"I'm just thinking about today's plan .."

"Tessa, You are such a bad liar " I heard in my head .

"Guys I wanted to ask something " I looked at Hermione and then at Harry .

"Go ahead " Hermione said and rolled her eyes .

"What are your plans for the holiday break ? .. Like , Where are you going to spend this two weeks ? "

"At Ron's Home , Why ?" Harry asked, confused .

"Just asking " I answered with a smile .

"What about you ? You want to join us ? " Ron looked at me .

"No, I actually still don't know-"

"Come on Tessa ! It's gonna be so fun! " Harry took my hand but I removed it quiqly .

"I promise to think about it. " I said while finishing my tea .

After we finished eating we decided to go outside and just spend some time together .
We threw some snowballs at each other and had so much fun .
At some point while i was running backwards I didn't keep track of my legs and fell ,
Suddenly, I felt a heavy body on me , It was Harry who fell on me .

-"Oh! Shit! Tessa, I'm so sorry ! Are you okay ?" He asked while laughing .

"Yes! Yes! I'm okay! " I said and started to laugh with him .

"You are so beautiful .. " He moved my hair off my face gently with his fingers .

"Harry , Stop . " I took his hand and tried to move it .

"Tessa, I have something I wanted to say for a long time " He looked me deep in the eyes .

"Harry I-"

"Oh look! The Dirty Mudblood and The boy who survived . How romantic ."

"Oh no, Not right now , Draco."

Harry got off me and helped me to get up .

"Malfoy ." Harry looked at him and I could feel the tension in the air .

Draco looked me in the eyes for a second and I could feel how much he was hurt .

He moved his eyes towards Harry .

"So Pottah , Keep going . What did you want to say ?"

"It's not your business Malfoy . "

Draco looked at me again .

"He wanted to say he loves you , Am i wrong Pottah ?"

"Shut up Malfoy." Harry pushed him .

"Oooh , look at this , Our sensitive poor boy ." Draco continued to tease him .

"I SAID FUCK OFF!" Harry punched him in the face .

From that point I barely remember something , I just remember myself screaming to them to stop .
I tried to ask Draco's friends to help me , but they just stood there watching .
After what seemed to be the longest minute on the earth , Ron and Hermione came and Ron tried to separate them .

When Ron finally did , I could see Draco's face .
His face was bleeding and he spat out blood .
Harrys wasn't really better , His glasses broke and his nose was bleeding .

Hermione ran to Harry and started to wipe off the blood.
While I was just standing there, not knowing what to do .
I wanted to run towards Draco but I couldn't , So I just  kept standing there .
You know what is the most painful thing you could ever experience ?
To see the person you love in pain , and not being able to help him .

Before Draco left , He gave me a look full of anger and pain at the same time.
I wanted to scream , Scream so hard, But I couldn't .

Hermione pulled her wand and after a second Harry's glasses were just like new ones .

"What even happened ?" She screamed at me .

"I don't know, He came and then they started to fight ."
I said with a cold and dry voice still trying to understand what just happened .

"Listen it's almost time. We have to hurry up . "  Ron said suddenly .

"But Harry is hurt ! How we will-"  Hermione started but Harry stopped her.

"Lets go." Harry got off the ground .

My heart started to beat faster .
 I really didn't want to go there , After what I just saw I couldn't see him get hurt again .

We started to move towards the Great Hall, And when we were already at the entry , Hermione looked at me .

-"You go first . "

"Hermione what are-" Harry whispered to her .

"Harry, She needs to prove us ."

I don't even know what I was more , Afraid of going there first or hurt by the fact they don't believe me .

I came in and didn't see anyone , so I called them to come in and the second they did the doors closed.
"Well , Well look at this ! What do we have here ?" We heard some ugly high voices .

It was Narcissa , Draco's mother.

Suddenly we saw Lucius , Draco's father Coming towards us.

"Mister Potter and his friends , How lovely to see you all here ." Lucius said .

Harry tried to cover me with his body and so I just stood there behind his back .

"You Mudbloods ! Here! " Narcissa screamed at me and Hermione .

"NO WAY!" Hermione pulled her wand but in a second she was already lying there unconscious .

It was the first time I was scared for my life.

"Take them!"
Narcissa Screamed, and the next thing that happened was some people in masks came and tied us up , blindfolded us and took our wands.
They took us outside as I could hear and after a while of walking we heard an iron door being opened.

They took off the blindfolds from our eyes and I noticed we were in a basement .

They took it off , closed the door and left .

I looked around and saw that I'm the only one who was awake .
The guys and Hermione were unconscious.

I tried to see more and suddenly my eyes fell on Luna, Luna was lying there unconscious .

I sat on the cold floor and started to cry .

I couldn't hold it anymore, The only thing i wanted in that moment was to be at my home, my bed.

Suddenly I heard someone open the door.

I put my hand on my mouth and tried to stop crying , I tried to make my best to not make a noise , I was shaking.


"Tessa..? " I heard a familiar voice. The voice I wanted to hear the most right now .

I got up and went towards the voice, I couldn't see much but I didn't even care at this point.

When I saw Draco I just ran into his arms and hugged him the hardest I could .

He hugged me back really hard, and I started to cry even harder.

"What are you doing here? You aren't supposed to be here ! " he grabbed my face with his hands.

I couldn't say anything , my anxiety took over and I felt like I cant breath .

"Tessa, look at me! Breath!"

I tried. I really tried , but I couldn't.

Suddenly I felt his lips on mine .

He kissed me and while we were kissing , I slowly got my breath back on track .

When he pulled his lips away I was already breathing much more easily .

"Why are you here Tessa? " he looked me in the eyes .

"Because they are my friends and we tried to stop you and-"

"You are so stupid! Why did you go with them?"

"They are my friends Draco! wait, who told you I'm here ?"

"Dobby did Miss." I heard Dobby's voice.

"Dobby told Tessa to stay away , Tessa didn't listen to Dobby ."

Draco took my hand and looked at me .

"Tessa, Dobby will get you out of here , You have to promise me to stay safe and stay away from your friends. "

"Are you crazy ? Do you even hear yourself? I'm not leaving without them!"

"Dobby told you sir, Tessa will not leave-"

"Dobby shut up!" me and Draco screamed at him at the same time.

"Tessa listen to me, You have to ! it's the only way you will be safe!"

"No Draco ! I'm not leaving them here and .. I'm not leaving without you !"

"Tessa, You got to understand , We don't have a lot of time. they will come here any second!"

"Who are they ? "

"Tessa please!"

"Tell me who they are ?"

Suddenly we heard steps coming our way .

"Shit! Dobby take us to the cabin! Now!" Draco screamed at him .

"No Draco ! I'm not-"

I didn't finish saying what I wanted as we were already there .

"Now leave, and don't tell anyone . Is that clear ?" He looked at Dobby .

"Yes sir. Dobby got it. " He snapped his fingers and disappeared .

"Draco no! We can't leave them there!" I started to scream at him .

"You could say thank you , you know! "

"Thank you ? Are you serious right now ?
My friends out there !
 They were kidnapped by some people with masks and they are unconscious !
And you want me to say THANK YOU?"

"Yes Tessa ! I saved you ! I'm risking now more than ever! "

He grabbed the bottle of whisky from the shelf and opened it .

"Stop drinking every time there is a problem! What the fuck id wrong with you ?"

He ignored me and just took a sip .

"Draco!"

"What Tessa ? What do you want me to say ?" He looked at me .

"You know what I want you to say ,
 I want you to say that you will help me get them out of there !"

He took one more sip .

"No."

"What do you mean no ? So why did you even came there to save me ?"

He didn't say a word .

"Why Draco? Huh ? Answer me !" I screamed at him .

"Because I will always protect what is important for me ! Here ! Are you happy?"

"You are selfish ! You are fucking selfish! "

I screamed and started to make my way to the door.
The second I was about to open it he grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him .

"Don't you dare touch me ! Leave me !"

"Why ? So you can run there and be killed ? No ! Not happening ! "

"No Draco! So I can run there and save my friends ! Because I'm not selfish like you !"

"So to save someone you love is selfish for you ?"

I could hear the silence in that room.
 I could hear nothing and everything at the same time.

"What did you just say ?" I looked at him with my big eyes .

I could see that he was shocked as much as I was from what he just said.

"I said I don't want you to get hurt ."

"You said something else . "  I looked him deep in the eyes trying to get the answer I wanted.

Someone knocked on the door.

"Go to the bathroom and keep quiet ." He pushed me a little bit towards the bathroom .

I came in and closed the door, but I could still hear what's going on out there .

"Draco, I told you to stay at home." I heard his father .

"Yes father I know I just-"

"I don't care, Today's plan was ruined . Dumbledore is still alive . you failed. "

"Father I know-"

" The lord is angry , He started to think he chose the wrong one."

"I'm sorry father."

"You can't do anything right ! You are always full of fear! You are a failure Draco."
"But you got Potter and his friends-"

"One of them escaped , This dirty little Mudblood. I already sent people to look for her."

"father, isn't the lord happy that we got potter?"

"There is no we Draco. It was me and your mother.
And yes, That is the only reason our family is still alive."

"Father, I'm sorry."

"As you should be. But you still have to kill him. "

"But how ? today they closing the school for the Holiday break-"

"There is always a second chance, But not a third one. "

"Yes father. "

"Now take your stuff , You're going home."

"Father go, I will pack my stuff and come later. "

"I said we are leaving . Now."

I heard steps and after a second Draco was in the bathroom .
He turned on the water and started to whisper .

"Listen to me now , My father is here and he's not gonna leave without me .
They know you escaped .
They sent people to look after you .
You can't leave this cabin Tessa.
You will stay here , No one will look for you here.
Promise me you will not leave this cabin."

I was terrified , I didn't know what to say .

"But what about my friends-"

"You don't get it ? They will kill you !
The last thing I care about right now is Pottah and his friends! "

"But Draco-"

"Please Tessa , Promise me you will not leave this cabin ."

"Okay , I promise. "

"I will come here the second I can , I promise ."
He gave me a little kiss on my forehead , Turned off the water and went out of the bathroom.

After a few minutes I heard the door closing ,but I stayed in the bathroom for a little longer just to be sure , and then decided to come out .

when came out and closed the door behind me, I could still smell him there,
I came closer to the little table where he left the whisky bottle open .
I took a sip , and then another one , sat on the bed and overlooked the room.
My eyes catched some little notebook that was lying under a bunch of clothes on the floor .
After I came closer and picked it up I sat back on the bed and decided to open it .
I saw a lot of sketches and just random drawings , flipping through a couple more pages,
I came across some notes.

"What are you doing Draco ? Huh ? What ? Why do you have to be such an asshole?
You're the chosen one ! And this girl is making you weak. You know it but don't want to admit it.
You know she will never love the real you , She only loves the idea of you . Like everyone around you .
Why did you sleep with her ? You broke her and broke yourself at the same time .
She will never know how hard all of this was for you .
She will never accept you the way you are.
She will never fall in love with someone like you .

Why would she want to be with a Death eater ?
With someone who can't feel nothing?
With someone who can't express himself?
What can you give her ?

You are a death eater Draco. Accept it. As it is.
I prefer to stay away from her, I prefer to do this instead of hurting her because I'm hurt myself.
I can't let her in , I can't show her how damaged i really am .
It's too much for her.
I really want to scream , Scream how much i love her.
How I fell in love like an idiot with a girl who I hated so much .
I fell in love with a mudblood.
But she's making me feel different , she makes me feel as if i can really change .
She gave me hope.
Hope no one ever gave me .
She looks at me and sees me , The real me.
I know she wants the best for me , But how can't she understand I just can't ?
I can't , I'm chosen for something else. It's in my blood. It's in my family line .
I'm so sorry I'm so fucked up. I really am .
I'm in love with someone for the first time in my life, I love someone harder than even loving myself, And I just can't deal with it .
I'm damaged .
I'm broken.
I'm fucking broken. "
