   "Oh no I'm too late!"

When Hinata was sure that the dark woman was gone she swam towards the wreckage immediately to see if anyone was alive. The first person she saw was a blonde who was gradually sinking into the water. He was unconscious and there was blood around him.

She knew that humans could not breathe underwater so her first priority was to get him to land, but there were other humans there and they also needed help. So she began to look around for parts of the ship that could still float and bear weight. Then she brought all the others and used it to support them. All of them were bleeding and severely injured. At least they will be ok as long as they remained above water.

Hinata then proceeded to pull the blonde with her till she got to the nearest shore. It was a difficult task because Hinata was not the most physically fit mermaid and all the physical work she'd been doing was starting to take its toll on her. When she got back to where the others were three of them had turned into mer-people. If Hinata was your regular mermaid she would have been surprised but she was not.

She went ahead to get the next human. She was calm now that the other three were not in danger of drowning. In a short while she had gotten all of them to land. Hinata stayed in the water and looked at them. They were injured but there was nothing she could do about it. She didn't have healing gifts and knew nothing about treatment. She decided to just wait for them to wake up.

Hinata was particularly very worried about the blonde. He was bleeding from his head. The other human was injured in the torso, it seemed deep and he also had some small cuts on his arms and legs. The mer-people present only had some cuts here and there. Few minutes later the blonde started to stir. Hinata swam closer and stared at him.

Naruto stirred and squeezed his eyes the opened them. He blinked several times to clear up his vision, that was when he saw her. Staring right at him was a beautiful woman with dreamy pearl like eyes. "Am I dead?"

Hinata kept staring at the human, he had such beautiful blue eyes. She had gotten so lost in those blue orbs that she was frightened when she heard him speak. He had asked if he was dead.

  "So beautiful,are you an angel?"

Hinata was taken by surprise again she was blushing deeply.

"Y-y-you're n-not dead." Hinata managed to say.

Naruto tried to stand up but Hinata quickly stopped him.

  "N-n-no don't, you're hurt."

"Who are you?" Naruto asked.

  "M-my name is H-hinata."

"So you saved me."

Hinata blushed some more but didn't react to his statement.

"Oh no!" Naruto suddenly remembered everything that happened and that Sasuke and the others were on the ship too.

Hinata seemed to read his mind and pointed towards were the others were. Naruto followed her hand and sighed in relief. They were ok.

Naruto had managed to sit up that was when he saw that half of Hinata's body was still under water.

"Are you a mermaid?" Naruto asked excitedly.

  Hinata nodded.

"Just like Sakura-chan! Do you know her? She's the princess right?"

Hinata nodded again. "s-she saved me once."

Hinata started to get nervous when Naruto wasn't replying but instead he was staring at her face intently.

"Your eyes are so beautiful, they're like precious pearls."

The compliment caught Hinata by surprise, nobody had ever said something so sweet to her. Her father always told her that her eyes were soulless and disgusting so she began to believe that and in order to hide her eyes, she grew her bangs long. Hinata didn't realize she was crying till Naruto pointed it out and started asking if he said something wrong.

"N-no, i-its just that n-no one's ever said that to me before."

Naruto looked surprised. How could she not have received a single compliment for having such beautiful eyes.

"Well rest assured because I'm going to remind you that your eyes are beautiful as much as I can."
