The Mermaid Princess (sasusaku Story)

36.The day before chaos.

  "We need to plan a course of action." Sakura said.

  "The Queen's security is too strong, so the palace can't be breached. Tomorrow Lady Mikoto will be taken to the dark waters for execution. That's when we strike. If everything is ruined, I'm sure Orotsu will show up. Then we have to take her down, the Oracle gave us her blessing for that reason I'm sure of it."

  Naruto and Sasuke listened intently to everything Sakura said.
  Naruto raised his hand. "Um why is Sasuke's mom getting executed? He asked.

   "She was imprisoned for going to the surface, and now the queen suddenly decided that she wants to execute her just the same way she's been arresting innocent people and framing them for one silly crime or the other. Even my mom was among them, but sakura and the other resistance members rescued her. The queen was never like this she used to be so kind and benevolent." Ino explained.

   "Since Orotsu is involved, I'm sure it's some sort of dark witchy spell." Naruto said.

  Ino looked like she had stopped to think, then she spoke. " It doesn't add up, if Orotsu is really an all powerful witch why didn't she just come and take over the kingdom herself? Why use the queen to destroy the kingdom?"

  "Ino, Orotsu is also an oracle. She's probably looked into the future and is now planning everything in a way that it would suit her. And judging from her recent actions, Sasuke is not good news to her. That's why she tried to kill him, which is why you're both going to stay hidden here until it's time to attack."

  Sasuke had not seen this side of sakura before. The one that takes charge, stands tall and fights in battles. So this was her princess side. Sasuke had expected her to be some fragile and pampered princess, but she was the opposite, she was a strong mermaid he knew now that he should never had doubted her. Sakura still acted indifferently with him, he knew that he had to talk to her but the chance just hadn't presented itself. He sighed inwardly. This was going to be difficult.

  Sakura and Ino arrived at the resistance hideout where their soldiers were still being tended to. Karin, Suigetsu and Jugo were helping. Sakura wasn't really surprised to find out that they were mer-people, she always knew something was off about them. Still she was greatful for their assistance.

   Then there was the purple haired girl she was sure she'd seen before. The girl was very timid yet she was helping out too by bringing medical supplies to the places they were needed. Just before sakura could step in, she heard yelling.

  Sakura and Ino rushed to the scene.
   "Sakura, isn't she that girl we saw when we were picking sea shells, the one who had an annoying dad?" Ino asked

   Sakura gasped in realization. "She is!"

 
  "You, you little useless child."

Sakura realized that the girl's father was part of the resistance.

  "I never realized that the resistance would be foolish enough to recruit someone like you. Perhaps they should go straight to the queen and turn themselves in."
  Hisashi kept on ranting and insulting Hinata.

  "Father." Hinata suddenly spoke up, she herself didn't know where she was getting the courage from, but she lifted her head and looked at her father right in the face.

  "You are a bad person, after you threw me out my abilities manifested! It was all fate. If I could use my gift when I was a child, you would have sold me long ago. You're a terrible father and a terrible person!"

   Hisashi raised his hand and was about to slap her but just before it could land sakura held his hand and gripped it tightly.
   Hisashi was livid.

"Just wait and see what the queen does with you all!" He spat.

  "So you're the spy who's been giving out our information to the queen." Sakura said.

  "Tie him up. We can't let him escape." Sakura said and some of the soldiers around quickly got rope and bound him tightly.

   Everyone who sustained injuries had been treated, and they all gathered around to discuss their strategy for the next days battle.

   Tsunade who was at the lead spoke up in a loud voice.

  "Tomorrow, we will face our toughest battle, and if we can execute it successfully we may be able to put an end to this war. Our objectives are to save the former queen Mikoto from unrightful punishment, and capture the queen."

     Orotsu had told Tsunade that Mikoto no longer needed to die, and that saving her would be advantageous.

   When the meeting was over, Sakura snuck out and went to the cave were Naruto and Sasuke were staying. She needed to tell them the strategy.

  "We will go to battle tommorow, Mika and Fina will show you the way. You need to stay hidden until Orotsu comes out, or else everything will be ruined."

 
   "I feel kinda scared." Naruto said.

   Sasuke understood Naruto, and truth be said he felt scared too, they would be going up against a crazy queen and an evil Oracle who had nearly killed them.

  "It's ok to be scared. Sakura said, I'm a little scared too. But we have to be brave, we were chosen for this and we've been blessed by the Oracle."

  "You're right Sakura-chan, I guess we have to do our best!"

 
   Sakura smiled. I have to go now, before anyone notices that I left. As sakura was about to swim out of the cave, sasuke held her arm.

  "Be safe."

   "I will."
