Rory composed herself and set off towards Claudette's office, knocking softly on the door."Rory, how did the planning session go? Is Katie happy with everything so far?"
"The planning went well but I need to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"Can you please take me off the Nichols-Huntzberger wedding moving forward?"
"What? No, I cannot take you off of this wedding. The Nichols and the Huntzbergers are huge clients and this wedding is the most important event of the year. I need you on this one."
"Claudette, you don't know the whole story. I am probably the last person in the entire world that should be working on this wedding with you."
"I don't understand Rory. You are doing a great job and you are an asset to me and the Plaza. You'll be fine."
"I wish that were true. Claudette, for personal reasons, I cannot work on this anymore."
"Rory, you will learn once you've been working in this industry longer that you are going to come across a lot of clients that are insufferable, rude, demanding and a number of other things. I know that Ms. Nichols has one of those sickeningly sweet personalities sometimes but she isn't a bridezilla so you can manage."
"Logan is my ex boyfriend!"
"What? How did you not say something before?"
"I didn't want to disappoint you or let my personal life impact my work."
"Wow! Rory you should never have been on this event in the first place. Does the bride know?"
"I don't think so, at least she doesn't know the full extent of things but she might start suspecting."
"You're off this one. I will take over everything and will need to pull Pam in to pick up some of the more minute details."
"Thank you Claudette. I am so sorry. I should have spoken up earlier."
"Yes, you most certainly should have. The next time one of your ex-boyfriends steps in to this office you better speak up."
"I will Claudette. Thank you for understanding."
"Goodnight Rory."
"Goodnight"
Rory walked back to her desk feeling relieved and a bit embarrassed. The last thing she wanted to do was put any sort of doubt in Claudette's mind about her professionalism but at least she would be putting some space between herself and Logan and his soon to be bride.
