Ch.3 - Testing Absolute Limits

The bus's engine made a revving noise as it began its short commute to its destination. The day was pleasant, sunny with clouds scattered across the sky creating many shapes; some that look like animals, others like objects. On the now moving bus sat 20 nervous students all hoping for a chance at a successful future, one of those students was Katsumi. She was on her phone completely unaware of her surroundings, rather peaceful. Her chocolate brown, wavy hair tied up into a low ponytail occasionally swaying with the movements of the bus, which was only now reaching its destination. 

The bus halted to a stop outside of a gated and fenced area. Students began to file off of the bus, Katsumi within them. Once all of the students made their ways off of the bus, the bus drove off leaving the students alone, and confused. 

"Um, what now?" One said, voice wavering

"You'd think UA would have more instructions." Another huffed

"Maybe we need to go through the gate?" Katsumi suggested, she thought about being sarcastic though she too was confused.

"Duh, where else are we supposed to go?" one boy growled. He was wearing a black tank-top and simple black basketball shorts, though he seemed familiar in a sense.

"No need to start a riot." Katsumi mumbled under her breath, only a few around her hearing; thankfully the boy didn't seem to hear. More and more people began to question what they were supposed to be doing, this caused quiet a chatter to erupt around the group of 20. Though as quickly as it started, their conversations were cut short when an announcement was made.

"Hello boys and girls! Now that everyone's at their test areas the practical exam will begin. In a moment the gates you're all standing in front of should open, once inside you'll see a member of staff who will count your scores as you complete different events. Please head over there now."

On que the gates opened revealing what looked like to be an Olympic size stadium. The track wrapped around the edge of a grassy area with a sand pit for the long jump, a marked off section for shot put and other throwing events and finally a very thick mat and high bar for high jump. Personally Katsumi liked the thick mats because on a hot summers day, her mom used to spray them with water making a huge splash when a person landed. In the centre of the grassy area was a man stood in a black tracksuit, very professional

Most people were stunned at the sheer size with one thought in their heads,

'How many of these do they have?'

Katsumi was excited and no longer nervous now that she'd seen the examination area, naturally with her fears wiped away she began to walk in towards the man in the centre, as she was told. Although she and the grumpy boy from earlier were the only ones to walk in, the others still stood, shocked. The both of you took no notice to the other students hesitance however and continued your walk.

"COME ON WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!" The man called over making the once shocked group speed walk over, though Katsumi and the boy were already standing near the man. The 18 students hurried over and gathered around the man in anticipation of what would lay ahead.

"Now, as I'm sure you heard you'll each be doing events and the best scores will be of those who get in. The UA staff members including I have put you in groups based off of a few factors, first event times or scores. When you put in your application to this school we contacted your school for your details so that's how we know. Group one will go first at the 100m sprint, when I call your name get in any lane. So, Bakugo, Saino, Tsuiseki, Kobayashi and Saisho.
