Ch.15 - Sports Festival 1

The cool breeze swam through the air as the heat of the spring began to turn into an early summer. The placid feeling of the town right now could not be interrupted, until it was.

"You need to raise your legs higher!" Katsumi demanded of Bakugo. You see, right now, they were both training intensely for the sports festival, it beginning tomorrow.

"Me?! As if you can talk!" Bakugo growled back in response. They were both currently working on hurdles, and trying to find an effective way to make their times go down.

"I can, I have a mouth. Now we run again." She said walking back to the start with Bakugo groaning but nevertheless following.

Bakugo and Katsumi were unknowingly more trustful of each other since the night in the alley occurred. This meant that they were somewhat more cooperative, in their own quirky ways. Now they would listen to each other, and do what they were instructed to do. Of course this was noticed at school, only by their teachers however; turns out the pairing system was great at finding friends.

Obviously now they trusted each other, but they could still ruthlessly insult each other- deep down they both knew it was fun and games. They both trained each other with insults, yet it somehow helped; this also lead to them insulting each other less, though they would still drop the occasional roast.

Their relationship was a confusing one, but they both liked it.

That's what leads to now, the day where the first year athletics students would be trying their hardest to win and get noticed for their goal, nationals. They were told to wear their athletics uniform, good to know it would come in useful.

The class was in the waiting room, students either sat on chairs or standing around, talking. Katsumi always preferred to be alone while preparing, it only made sense to her. Being able to bask in your thoughts, perfect time to come up with a strategy.

Katsumi was exhilarated, though from the outside all one could see was a small smile. She wanted to be the undeniable winner, and to be the best she could be in everything that she would have to compete in during this festival. She wanted to look powerful.

Bakugo looked -well- angry, but deep down he was eager to prove he was the best. He didn't care that the son of the number two athlete was here (Todoroki), he was going to be the best and no one was going to stop him.

There was a fait chatter of nervous teenagers talking to each other, disclosing their thoughts about the festival to those who had the patience to listen. Then the intercom went off signalling for the 40 contestants to make their way to the centre stage, which was in the centre of the stadium.

The 20 members of class 1A made their ways down the corridors of the stadium until they came to the entrance of the stadium. Katsumi lead the pack with Bakugo a few strides behind her, hands in his pockets a scowl on his face. Katsumi had a competitive smirk on her face, while others were smiling or looking competitive.

The other first year athletics class walked out, opposite to class 1A. Class 1A had never really interreacted with them, they simply assumed they were pleasant. Though what class A didn't know was, class B was slightly upset with them, no they were very upset. You may ask, why? Well, the fact class A were part of the first ever training session with Shiketsu caused one particular blonde boy in 1B to have such a bad opinion, which spread to the others.

The two classes stayed in separate bubbles, both standing in front of a stage where Kayama sensei (Midnight) stood. She was standing in front of a huge TV screen, which Katsumi could only assume would be what randomly chose the events.
